Sorry if my story isnt looking very interesting atm, i hope ur enjoying it!
I lift his head gently and wrap his gaping stomach wounds with shaky hands. Slowly calming myself down when he softly opens his eyes and gently squeezes my hand. I lay him to rest and continue on my day... or night. The real problem was finding Mei, or should I say Rin. I stumble down the hall, twisting and turning at different angles until. "So I see you found me." hissed a croaky voice. Very noticeably , the colour ran from my face and sweat beaded on my forehead. I slowly twist my neck in Rins direction. My heartbeat thumping in my ears, deafening me.
I did the first thing that came to mind. I ran for it. Checking every few seconds to see if she was catching up. As I was running through a rather bright room, my eyes were glued to a 'completely normal' passage smeared in blood. "Poison the rats to trick Rin and sacrifice them to the bell and use it to alert her."
"Huh..." I whisper under my staggered breath. I look around one last time to check if anyone was there, and slipped into the minka. I collect a few dusty boxes and quickly glide out the minka. I hurry across the halls , slowly dying under the weight of the boxes safely tuck in between my arms. After what seems like hours of running around like a headless chook, I finally step in the minka with a very 'warm' welcome to silence from Niko, who is calmly sitting up, chowing on a small bowl of instant ramen. Giving me a strangely warm look as he sighs and says, "How was the journey, cutie." Unamused at his choice of words, but blushing, shocked at his strange kindness, I responded with a frown but a confident voice. "Well I actually found these 3 boxes all by myself and escaped Mei!" He looks at me with a raised eyebrow. "Ok whatever you say." He mutters. I let out a huge sigh. "Turn away real quick." I snap at him. When he turns around I quickly slip on some pyjamas. "Done." I say, flicking my hair over my shoulder. "Goodnight..." He responds with a smirk. I scoff at him then lay down. Instantly falling asleep.
I wake up to the sound of Niko shuffling around the room. He caught my eye and showed me a welcoming smile. Confused already, I bolt up as he leans over me, our eyes meet and he whispers, "Morning cutie." He backs up with a teasing smile. I feel redness swirl in my cheeks ,but I shake it off. "Seriously?" I responded to his stupid expression. "Today we have a task." I say, trying to sound as "bossy" as I can. "What is it now?" He sighs. "Actually, We have to find 3 rats and poison them then sacrifice them." I respond with a nervous grin. "I know it's weird." I sigh " But it's the best we can do considering we are literally stuck in a minka in the middle of absolute nowhere." I tell him ,trying to make finding rats sound more serious. "Well guess we should get going then." He says in a soft voice. " No shi- ." I stop mid- sentence with his finger on my lip. "Don't want you getting angry, cutie..." I instantly move away, embarrassed but there is heat swirling in my cheeks as I look away and bite the inside of my mouth. "You need to stop calling me that!" I say with an innocent voice, not pretending I didn't like it. Because I didn't, right? "You don't have to be so boring." Niko responds, with a slight bit of sadness in his voice, but not enough for anyone but me to notice. "You're one to talk!?" I beam, slightly annoyed that he was comparing me - to boring? Unbelievable. I walk away in a 'talk to the hand' kind of gesture, then exit through the main room with him closely on my tail. I take a few turns and look behind me every once in a while. Still there , Takahushi , no need to worry about someone who is just there to isolate and annoy you.
I focus on my ears, the sound of anything in this dead silence. All I hear is me and Nikos shoes clacking on the wooden floors. He stays alert and I focus deeply on this squeaking sound. "Do you hear that?" Niko whispers closely in my ear. "Mhm.." I respond. I walk closer ,closer and closer. My eyes lock on the holes near the wall. "I knew it!" I exclaim "There!" Niko points, I run up to a rat but it scurries away. A piece of leftover tart crust falls out of my pocket without me even noticing. Within a blink of an eye a rat comes up and almost snatches it but before it even lays a paw on the crust I put both hands around its stomach and pick it up. "Gotcha!" I say in a rather happy voice. I chuck it to Niko but he leaps back and looks at me like I just killed 2 generations of his family. "Fuck! DON'T LET IT GET AWAY IDIOT!" I dive and squash the rat. It lets out one small squeak. "Now's the hard part Niko." I shoot him an offending glare. "Lead the way cutie." I walk down the endless hallway. Taking twists and turns. I open a strange door. It's a different colour to the other ones. I Open it and let out a sigh. After whatnot hours of searching and searching and I have finally found it. I softley place the rat down on the metal plate. I ring the bell. "Something isn't not right.." Niko says in a worried tone. The floor starts shaking. "Holy shit. It sounds like footsteps to me." I say "FUCK! I FORGOT THAT IT SUMMONS MEI!!" Me and Niko run fast but not fast enough. It grabs onto me and pulls me back. Niko turns around and horror floods his eyes. They suddenly turned cold and a crooked smile stretched across his face. "Bye." He whispers and dashes away. "NO! WAIT YOU FUCKING IDIOT! I LOVED YOU!'' is the last blood curdling scream I let out.
