Chapter 4:

The end of this chapter is kinda gross, it doesnt get better from here

I wake up. Sweat beading my forehead. I look around. No sign of Niko. Then a flash of pain reruns the memory in my head of his betrayal. Why would he do that? I shake it off and sit up. At Least I try. I'm strapped to the floor. I struggle to break free but I can't. I hear chittering and I see that Rin is above me. She then moulds into her usual Mei form. I wonder why she isn't , like eating me and then it hits me. Her goal was never to kill me, It was to capture me for some reason. I stare in her soft green eyes and she stares back. Then her face then changes expression. She figured out that I figured out her plan. She turns her back on me then says in her usual raspy voice. "So I see you've figured it out..." I give her a glare that explains nothing. She looks at me with wide, unexplainable eyes. She hisses one last time and leaves without a word. Now I'm stuck here trying to figure out what to do. I try various strategies, none of which work. After what feels like hours of struggling I take a small glance around the room. That's when I see it. A small pocket knife laying on the shelf. I try so hard to get out but nothing works. I scream in frustration. My soul almost left my body when I heard footsteps coming down the hall, closing my eyes and hoping that my life, doesn't like, tragically end. I then hear a soft, soothing voice. Just then a beautiful girl with dead straight black hair that goes past her shoulders with big , light brown eyes. I look in shock, my jaw wide open. "Can you help me instead of just standing there, please?" I tell the girl as I snap out of my mini panic attack. She softly nods and gets a knife, cutting me free. I smile in gratitude and thank her and she gives me the cutest smile I've ever seen. "My name is Dakota, nice to meet you..." It then hits me, harder than a bullet, how much she looks and sounds like Niko. "My name is Takahushi, nice to meet you too." I say with a welcoming tone. She gives me a small smile and leads me out the room. We walk down an unfamiliar hallway and take many turns. I then see a poster stuck to the wall. "Objective: Run."

I take a small glance at Dakota and never have I ever seen anyone look so horrified. She takes my hand and sprints down the hallway and soon it transforms into an obstacle. I try to take a small look behind me but then "NO! DON'T LOOK BEHIND YOU JUST KEEP RUNNING!" She screams and I let go of her hand. Trusting her, I sprint and there is a back door as a turn right. I open it and see that there is shimenawa on the door so I must be safe, right? When Dakota exits the door she tells me that we are safe and we must go up the stairs. "I forgot to add." Dakota says. "If you see nure-onna hide underneath the large boulders and she wont see you." Dakota whispers. Just as she finishes the floor beneath us starts to rumble as a long slithering woman with a snake body submerges above the surface of the deep caves. Dakota rushingly pushes me down into the tall grass. She gives me a certain look and I know not to say anything. I look at the strange snake figure woman and a cold shiver runs down my spine. A long piece of grass tickles my nose. As I beg and beg, I let out a huge sneeze and Dakota looks at me as if she's shooting daggers out her eyes. The snake figure slithers closer and takes a look around then backs down into the hole. "Oh my god Takahushi i swear you will be the end of me." she sighs. We quickly scatter to a large boulder that is majestically floating in the air. I guess anything is possible in this world huh" I whisper under. The rumble begins again and my feet start shaking. And the boulder lowers and the figure emerges from the ground once again. She never fails to heighten my nerves. When she goes back down Dakota calls me closer and whispers in my ear. "Whoever Nure-onna makes eye contact with anyone, you will be turned to stone." I shudder at the thought but keep on walking through the tall grass and make our way through this weird bone like tunnel and yet again the ground grumbles. I knew what was expected so I duck down and she slithers to my face and hisses. I don't know what would've happened if I didn't hide. Let's keep it that way. As we enter a new tunnel me and Dakota tiptoe down the alley covered in overgrowth and vines. Water drips from the roof and me and Dakota share a glance. The silence makes my thoughts even louder so I finally say something I shouldn't have. " How do we get out here?" Dakota stops. She looks at me as if she has seen a ghost. "TAKAHUSHI!!" She screams. I look at my hands, I almost feel lightheaded. Skin. Skin Peeling everywhere, blood dripping to the floor. I drop to the floor. staring at the flakey bones spiking out my hands, head throbbing from the pain. My eyes barely open. I see Dakota struggling to pick me up, sooner or later I'm passed out on her back. I wake up in a small cozy cabin, fire blazing, I could've sworn I saw someone helping Dakota, Niko? No, never. If it is ill drop kick that fucking bitch. I guess we will find out sooner or later.
