Raj paced up and down the kitchen, checking his watch every few seconds to see if it was time to leave yet.

"Raj, it's ok! I'm sure your date will be lovely, and I'll be right here by the door once you return, ready for you to tell me everything," his mother said while straightening his tie.

"Thanks, mom. I know I look nervous right now, I'm actually really excited about this!"

Raj's mother pulled him towards her in a warm embrace. His mother took a glance at Raj's watch, took his hand and said, "Would you look at the time, I think it's time for you to get going."

Raj gave his mother a quick kiss on the cheek and rushed out of the door, getting into the taxi waiting for him on the driveway.

Raj opened the door to the small cafe where Bowie was to be waiting for him.

"Hey, reservation under the name of Bowie Mercia?" he asked timidly,

"Sure! Right this way." the waiter said.

The waiter walked promptly and quickly through the restaurant, with Raj's heartbeat quickening with every step he took. He didn't have the courage to look up, so he stared at his feet, being cautious and snaking through the many tables that, somehow, fit into this tiny restaurant.

"Ok, this is your table, enjoy!" the waiter said after, what felt like, a trek through the restaurant. Raj looked up to see Bowie looking up at him, smiling the same smile he left Raj with, before he was airlifted to the hospital with Wayne. Raj sat down and let his eyes wander for a few seconds, only to see the mouthguard that he left with Bowie.

"The mouthguard, you've kept it all this time," Raj said.

"I mean, at this point, it's what's kept me going," Bowie sighed.

Raj frowned, "What do you mean by that? You... don't seem yourself tonight, you sounded so bubbly and happy on the phone last night."

Bowie took Raj's hand and stroked it gently, smiling as he caught Raj blushing, "I mean, as you know, after my little stunt with Millie and Priya on the island, I haven't been... well liked in public now."

Raj leaned towards him and stroked his cheek lightly, catching a tear that had fallen from his eye. Looking at Bowie with thoughtful eyes. "Bowie, to me, you will always be the confident, flamboyant guy that I met on that first day on the island. I will always have your back, through your lowest points and your highest. I will always be here for you. Although I hate seeing you in this state."

With that, Bowie tilted his head upwards until their lips touched, in what felt like years since the last time it happened. Bowie rested his hand on Raj's cheek, keeping the repeated rhythm of their lips coming together and parting.

"Thank you for being there for me, Raj." Bowie exhaled.

"You're everything to me, Bowie." Raj said, before getting back into the same repeated rhythm.
