It was summer at the time, the morning breeze softly tousling our hair as laughter echoed between us. After a few moments of playful banter, we decided to recline on the feathery emerald grass, side by side, our gazes fixed on the drifting clouds.
"Hey..." You began, your eyes still fixed above, yet I sensed a hint of hesitation in your voice.
"What's up?" I replied, turning my head to face you, though you didn't do the same.
A few moments of silence lingered before you broke it with your meek voice.
"What...are your thoughts on love?" you asked.
"Love? Aren't we too young to be discussing such things?" I responded, my brows furrowed in thought.
"I-it's just a question! It doesn't mean anything... really," you replied, briefly turning to me with slightly widened eyes before shifting your gaze back to the sky.
I chuckled before answering, "Love...it's something special between two people and only for them, like our parents. You could say it's like a universe where only you and someone special to you exist. In that universe, nothing else matters except what you share with that person," I explained, lounging with my arms propped behind my head as I followed your gaze.
"It's a universe where you're surrounded by beautiful things, like countless stars representing the good aspects of a relationship, and things like a black hole symbolizing the challenges. While in that universe, you and your partner guide each other through the vast space, avoiding the black holes, savoring the beautiful things, and resolving whatever challenges you encounter," I continued, sharing my perspective on what love means.
After I provided my answer, silence enveloped us, with only the gusts of wind filling the space.
"What if...I want to experience that so-called universe with you?" I heard you blurt out next to me. I turned my head swiftly, my heart thumping in my chest as I eyed you with uncertainty.
You sat up from your position, the look in your eyes screaming fear and hesitance. Then, you took my hands, placing them on your lap as you locked gazes with me.
"Abby, let's try dating each other. I know we're still a bit young, but my feelings for you are genuine," you said, your eyes and tone pleading.
"Lynx..." I murmured, a mix of emotions swirling within me. But the look you gave me when you said those words-oh, how much it touched my heart.
"Lynx, I would love to, but let's take it a bit slow, okay? You're right, we're young, and I don't want both of us getting hurt in the process," I replied. That was enough for you to tackle me in a hug, the both of us rolling in the emerald grass.

Years passed by so quickly, and we're finally at the right age to be in love. When we were young and in love, many assumed that we knew nothing, and we faced numerous struggles, but we remained strong together... until one night.
We lay down on my bed, facing the window that showed the starry sky twinkling in the heavens above. You were playing with my hair while I lay on your chest, absentmindedly fiddling with your cardigan.
"You know, I was named after a constellation," you mumbled, while I enjoyed the delicate movements of your fingers in my hair.
"Lynx?"
"Mhm, the constellation lynx is so dim that it could only be seen by a person with the eyes of a lynx," you explained, catching my attention.
"Abby..." you added, your words trailing off in hesitance. My heart started thumping, fearing the word you might say next.
