It was the first night of winter break, and Ashlyn had been pretty good at keeping the secret of the love spell, meanwhile, Briar had gone crazy trying to figure out the sudden connection between Apple and Raven.
"I just don't get it, Ashlyn. I've been watching both of them like a hawk, and still haven't gotten any further than I was a few weeks ago." Briar angrily said, banging her head down onto her vanity.
"Maybe you should just let it go. They're probably just enjoying the time that they have together before graduation. You've been wasting a lot of time on this." Ashlyn responded, looking up from her magazine.
"Maybe you're right..." Briar stated, looking up at her reflection in the vanity mirror. This isn't like me... she thought.
"I just can't shake the feeling that something else is happening between them."
It was so hard for Ashlyn to keep this secret. She felt an incredibly strong urge to just blurt everything out to Briar.
Right before Ashlyn was going to spill her guts, Briar turned around with a smile, stating "I'm gonna drop it. Apple is our best friend and I shouldn't be invading her privacy."
Ashlyn smiled. "That's great to hear, Briar."
Briar climbed into bed, pulling her sleeping mask over her eyes, and turning the lights off.
The next day
During the night, many inches of snow had come down onto the school building, and the students woke up to the sun shining through gray clouds, and reflecting off of the fresh snow.
"Raven! Raven!" Apple whispered, bouncing on Raven's bed. She was inches away from Raven's face, watching her with a huge smile.
Raven groggily woke up, opening her eyes to see Apple's huge smile.
"Hey, Apple." Raven tiredly said, grinning. "Why did you wake me up so enthusiastically?" She laughed
Apple pulled her to her feet and dragged her to the window
"Because it snowed!" Apple exclaimed
Raven was able to fully open her eyes, seeing the glistening white snow, decorating the land around the building.
"It's beautiful, Apple. but did you need to wake me up?"
"Well, I thought that maybe we could grab a coffee and go ice skating together?" Apple sweetly said, smiling at her.
Raven was finding it harder by the day to refuse Apple's smile.
"Alright. Get dressed." She said with a smile.
