Everyone cleared out after the conversation, and the truth had been shared.

The only ones who stayed behind was Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

I wasn't surprised that Fred had left back to his and George's apartment considering how he was still healing and in too much pain right now to be sitting up or standing for long.

"Do you have an idea as to who we'll be paired with?" wondered Harry toward a frowning Hermione.

"That isn't even the biggest issue," I retorted already having a feeling my earlier worries were warranted. "Kings might not have outright said it, but those like Rodolphus and the other Death Eaters will also be counted in for this."

Well, all of those single and or now widowed.

I couldn't even think about what would happen if I got paired up with a previous Death Eater.

Especially since they'd been trying to kill us up until the end of the war and each were thrown into Azkaban after their trials. Something that had taken months to get through.

It was only thanks to Harry that Draco and his mother didn't get as harsh a punishment.

"You don't think we'll actually be paired with them, do you?" wondered Hermione as a frown began to tug at her lips while she looked between all of us. "I mean, they were just trying to kill us months ago. To make them our husbands now would be suicidal."

She wasn't wrong considering we had no guarantee that they wouldn't continue to try to kill us once we were wed. Unless of course they had us do binding vows that would keep either of us from harming the other until death do us part.

But those type of vows had all but become obsolete over the years.

More so as it became more common for someone to take a mistress, be it the wife or husband, and had to pay the consequence of breaking their vow.

Not that there weren't those who stuck by the vows they took.

"It'd be better to expect it with us more so than anyone else," I shot back with a scoff as I used magic to switch back into my sleeping attire from before. "We are the ones who lead the war against Riddle with Harry this time around, making us known as the 'War Heroes'."

Something none of us cared for considering all that was lost during the Final Battle.

"There isn't any guarantee that you'll end up with six husbands either," added Harry with a shake of his head while glancing between Hermione and myself. "That's just the highest number you could be paired with."

"I need to speak with Kingsley and find out how they plan to pair everyone," stated Hermione hair almost sparking as she twisted to stalk towards the door. "In the meantime, you all look into the different books here at Grimmauld Place."

"Great, it's almost as if we're back in Hogwarts already," groaned out Ron having remained mostly silent up until now as he processed the newest issue we had to face. "Did she forget that we only have until midnight tonight?"

Many had expected for Hermione and Ron to become a couple after the Final Battle, but it was during it that they realized they were better off friends than as a couple.

Though she still scolded him just the same when he chose to head straight into Auror training instead of planning to go back for his last year at Hogwarts.

Something we had all been offered by McGonagall as we worked to restore the castle.

Harry had also chosen to join the Auror training much to my surprise.

Each of us had only recently been able to fully focus on our futures now that the trials for Death Eaters were over and Hogwarts had been restored. Instead, we were now dealing with this.

It also reminded me that here soon I would get Teddy for the weekend as Andromeda would get a break on weekends. Harry and I split them between us since we each have our own place and were the child's godparents.

We had wanted to be there for the child who had lost his parents because of the war.

He was also family to us.

But one of the reasons neither of us had tried to gain full guardianship was due to wanting time to heal and not feeling like we were ready to be parents. Teddy also had his grandmother who had already lost everyone else dear to her.

Now we wouldn't have much choice in becoming parents thanks to this law.

Just, none of this was fair or what any of us wanted and yet we would have to deal with it.

"For now, I think we should focus on getting things in order for when our spouses are chosen," I stated with a tired sigh. "Andy will also need to be made aware since even as a widow she won't be affected due to her age."

Part of me was glad for the age limit since it meant I wouldn't be forced to marry an old man.

"Right," groaned Harry seeming to have forgotten how this would affect Andy and Teddy both since it could change our weekend plans. "I'm saying this now, if we end up with a Death Eater as a spouse, then we should only visit Teddy at Andy's place."

Which I fully agreed with since I wouldn't be able to trust said spouse to not harm the child whose parents had played a role in them losing the war. We would do a lot for Teddy, and that included dealing with any future spouses who might be a threat.

Every vow and contract had loopholes.

It was just finding them that took time and the correct planning.

"You do realize that your Slytherin side is showing, right?" joked Ron with a snort even as he got to his feet from where he had settled at my vanity table. "For now, I think I'll head on home and just wait for tomorrow morning."

Something told me that by midnight we'd have the results.

"Cheers," I shot towards his back as he headed out of the room and towards the apparation point I had set up in the house. "You staying?"

"Yeah," answered Harry with another sigh. "My room is still set up here, and honestly I don't think I have the energy to get to my house."

Many weren't aware, but James and Lily Potter had another house they had planned to move into once it was safe. Only they never got the chance.

Something we learned about when visiting Gringotts to listen to their Will's.

Harry had chosen to move into the place a few weeks back now that it had been cleaned up.

Though it was also a blessing he had it now with this marriage law.
