[PIP POV]

This is my one chance. If I don't leave now I am fucking screwed for the rest of eternity. I just, (well if I could) pray that it doesn't realize that I am escaping.

Oh but pray tell, I have no bloody clue where we are. I know we are still in America, but are we in a different state? We had to be on some huge chunk of land... There was forest all around.

[NO POV]

Pip stood up, wincing at the pain in his foot. He would just have to deal with it for now. He trudged around, looking for anything that could help him. He was cold as fuck and needed a way of transportation.

He was able to find a raggedy poncho and some other winter gear in the trunk of one of the broken down cars... but no transportation. Until he found Damien's car.

Pip recognized it immediately. How couldn't he? It was the only nice thing in a four mile radius. The sight of it brought back crude memories from Estella's party. The pain in Pip's heart grew heavy as did the regret. If he didn't introduce the two, she would be alive right now. If he didn't introduce the two, that wouldn't have been her last party. But Pip didn't have enough time to repent for his sins right now. He had to get out of here.

Fuck.

He needed the key. And said key was on the table back inside. Where his abuser was. So that was definitely a no go.

Pip took one more look through everything just to see if he missed anything. He didn't, so he prepared himself for the long journey ahead of him. After finally getting himself all ready, he sneaked his way through the fence.

As Pip ventured forth, his footsteps echoing against the eerie silence of the dense, damp woods, a shiver crept down his spine. The gnarled branches above seemed to reach out like skeletal fingers, casting elongated shadows that danced ominously in the fading light. The ground beneath his feet was soft and sodden, releasing a musty scent that hung heavy in the chill air. Despite the encroaching darkness and the unsettling rustles that seemed to follow his every step, Pip steeled himself, determined to finally rid himself of his abuser.

After what felt like an eternity navigating the treacherous terrain of the haunted woods, Pip finally emerged at the outskirts of a small town. The flickering streetlights cast a warm, inviting glow on the cobblestone streets, offering a stark contrast to the foreboding darkness he had just traversed. As he approached, the eerie silence of the town began to worry Pip. Where was everyone?

Unfortunately, thats when Damien caught up to him.

"YOU MOTHERFUCKER." Damien yelled, "HOW DARE YOU LEAVE WITHOUT PERMISSION. I WILL DESTROY YOU FOR THIS."

Pip's eyes were full of shock from the sight that he saw. Damien was no longer human. He was a fucking wolf. But not just any wolf, some sort of hellish demonic wolf— a scene straight from a bad 50s movie. If he wasn't absolutely terrified right now, he might make fun of Damien for this.

"No no no no no!!!!" Pip yelled as began to run away. He just got out of that damn hell, he can't go back now!

Why aren't there any people around? Pip thought as he turned the corner, Did Damien make them vanish? Am I hallucinating again? Why cannot anyone come save me?

As the quicken footsteps of Damien echoed closer, Pip's heart raced with fear. Desperation etched into every fiber of his being, he spotted a beacon of hope in the form of a quaint Mormon church. Without a second thought, he dashed towards it, his breaths ragged and adrenaline coursing through his veins.

With trembling hands, he pushed the heavy door shut behind him, the thud echoing in the empty church. The air inside was cool and still, a stark contrast to the chaos outside.

As Damien's shadow loomed menacingly outside the church, a palpable barrier of protection shielded Pip from the Prince of Hell. Frustration and fury radiated from Damien's piercing gaze as he paced back and forth, unable to breach the sanctity of the church's walls. Inside, Pip's chest rose and fell with a mixture of relief and disbelief. A triumphant smile tugged at the corners of his lips as the weight of his victory settled upon him. For the first time in what seemed like an eternity, the chains of fear and torment that Damien had inflicted upon him were shattered. In this moment of respite, Pip tasted the sweet essence of freedom, savoring the peace that had eluded him for so long.

he celebrates his victory

With the adrenaline of his harrowing escape slowly ebbing away, Pip found solace in the quiet serenity of the church. The wooden pews, worn by years of devoted worshipers, offered a semblance of comfort amidst the lingering tension. Exhaustion weighed heavily on his weary frame, prompting him to seek refuge in the embrace of sleep. With a sense of cautious trust in the safety of the consecrated space, Pip settled himself on a pew, its hard surface softened by his makeshift bedding of his coat. As the flickering candlelight cast dancing shadows around the hallowed hall, Pip's eyes fluttered shut, his mind finally finding a moment of respite from the relentless chaos that had plagued him.
