So... today marks my first day as a "Host Club Attendant"... aka a maid. Well, sort of.... first day with the title. But... maybe doing this will be my gateway to making friends...
People only ever whispered about me and avoided me... I really couldn't be bothered to fight back against the commoner facade people have given me. So I just let it be...
Until I met Haruhi... and then through Haruhi, the Hitachiin brothers... and through them... the Host Club!
In a way, im pretty lucky, I'd say. Even if I don't meet anyone else. If things stay the way they are, then I'll be set with a group of loyal friends... at least that's what Haruhi keeps reassuring me...
I still can't believe Haruhi is a girl... in a lot of ways, it makes a ton of sense. But even so, Haruhi made my heart flutter... Bi panic? Maybe I'll just put that thought in the back of my head. Besides, even though I'm surrounded by beautiful men, I don't know them well enough... and only their negative qualities have shined through yet.
Mori Senpai almost never talks... Honey Senpai looks like my youngest brother, who is in elementary school... The twins are FAR too in love with each other, and I still can't tell if they are serious or not... Tamaki is well, obnoxious, and overbearing... and Kyoya... well.... Kyoya hates me! He's cold and harsh... and blunt... and cruel... and mean!!!! God, do I have to say anything else!?
Today has been far too long. And Tamaki doesn't want me to start until he can train me properly... so they sent me home for the day.
On my walk home, I was lost in thought about how it went.... I think it went well, but I can't be too sure. But all I know is I'm only 2 weeks into my high school career, and I am already on a path that I can't tell the ending.
I don't regret aiming high and succeeding in getting into Ouran... but my friends from middle school. They are off in the city going to cafés, doing purikura, wearing their school uniforms... being normal. I wonder how Satsuki and Kanna are doing anyways... I haven't been able to talk to them due to my busy school days...
I opened my phone and scrolled Insta and looked at all my old classmates living their best student lives.
As soon as I got home, my elder sister Miyano was cooking dinner. My younger siblings, Madoka and Masahiro, were at the table helping each other with their homework.
Miyano is a college student. She is studying fashion online. Madoka is a middle schooler, and Masahiro is an elementary schooler. As you can probably tell our parents have a think for names that start with M.
But all our names gave meaning... Miyanos name means Wild everlasting beauty... Madokas name means Harmony and Peace... Masahiros name means Tolerant and Generous... and me... Miyuu, my name means beautiful tenderness...
Some fun facts, for anyone who cares. But when I walked in, mom and dad weren't home. When I asked about it, they said they were working late. I sighed, heading up to my room. The house was small, but there were 3 bedrooms. Mom and dads.... Mine and Miyanos.... and Madoka and Masahiros.
I flopped onto my bed, exhausted... I got changed and fell asleep before eating my dinner...
-------------------------------------------------
In the morning, I was up way earlier than I needed to be... about an hour before my alarm usually goes off... I suppose that maybe I'm just excited for today. Nervous, maybe also... no matter, regardless, I'm ready, and I wasn't able to take a bath last night, so now is a good time.
I uncovered the hot bath water that was waiting for me, and I showered off quickly. Soaking in the tub felt so nice. The hot water helped me relax off the nerves for school today.
I stood up, staring at myself in the bathroom mirror, and water dripped off of my skin.
"God... im ordinary looking..." I muttered under my breath. I grabbed my towel and began drying off as I walked to my bedroom.
I'm putting on a long floral skirt today and a frilly baby pink blouse. Tying a glittery navy blue ribbon around my collar. I added some soft white socks on my feet before grabbing my small box of hair accessories and ties.
I carefully stared into my vanity mirror, carefully deciding what hairstyle to attempt today. I handled my brown locks with skill and swooped up half into a high ponytail, molded, and twisted it into a bun. I clipped in a white ribbon onto the back of the bun.
I felt entirely feminine today... which is just what I need. A boost of confidence. I carefully patted on some soft fair powder and a pink tint to my lips. And with a curl of my eyelashes, i felt ready to conquer the day.
I stormed down the stairs as though I was storming into battle...
My siblings all either left or are sleeping still... and my parents nowhere in sight... I sighed as I grabbed a bite to eat from the kitchen. An orange should do... right?
I grabbed the orange, my book bag, and went on my merry way.

Later on in the day after classes had finished up for the day. Haruhi, the twins, and I had started walking up to the Host Club.
When we opened the door, Tamaki and Kyoya were arguing about something. Honey was staring blankly at the two boys...
And once the doors opened up, the three boys eyes landed on us. Particularly me.
"I-is there a problem?" I said, confused. Kyoya seemed to scoff and turn away. Tamaki sashayed over to us and took me by my hand and guided me to a table and chair and sat me down..
"My dear, Miyuu... today we shall teach you a lesson in.... ELEGANCE!" Tamakis voice boomed in the music oriented club room. He placed a tea set in front of me and some packets of tea and urged me to make tea and serve him some.
I was bewildered by the sudden testing. I mean, I've made tea before! However, not using such fancy materials. Not to mention, it was expensive. And where was I going to boil water? I scanned the room and noticed a small countered area with an electric kettle and a sink.
I scurried over, filling the electric kettle with some plain tap water and setting it to boil. Preparing the tea bag into the tea pot... several minutes later, when the kettle was ready, pouring the hot water into the pot as well.
Once everything was prepared, I walked carefully back over to where Tamaki sat eyes glued to my form.
"H-Here you go!" I stumbled to say as I lost some balance approaching the table. Suddenly, a strong hand from behind caught and steadied me. Tamaki looked shocked for a moment but pleased all at once. As my head cranked like an owl to see who the hand belonged to, I only saw a tall, dark-haired man. With a serious face...
For I moment... I almost thought it was Kyoya, but before I could say any names...
"TAKESHI!" The small blonde third year launched himself into the air and onto Mori Senpais back.
"Awhh! You helped Miyuu chan!" He cheered and praised Mori. Mori soon let go of me, and he went off with Honey Senpai...I sighed in relief as those two walked away, and I was able to finish serving the tea. I poured some tea into Tamakis tea cup and pushed forward some packets of sugar, a small dish of cream, and some spices as well.
"Here! Help yourself..." I said calmly with a smile on my face. Tamaki stared back as if he was analyzing me... he face looked cool and collected, and deep thoughts murmured behind his eyes. I stared back at him nerves, starting to vibrate within me.
"Well, this tea... is fine... I suppose... but! If you want to level it up instead if steeping the tea in the pot, offer the bags on the table. Also, when serving the hot water, always use two hands! And do it slowly, so there are no splashes!! And furthermore..." Tamaki droned on and on, reciting tips like he were some sort of etiquette professor. I zoned out, I felt so lost. Basically, he said I did fine, but there's a million things I can improve upon.
What a mess... why did I agree to this? It's the first day of hell... so it seems...
