Frida and Agnetha entered Arntine's and Frida's apartment.
"Hi! Did you have fun?"
Agnetha smiled against Frida's kind grandmother. "Yes" Frida answered and gave her a hug. "I have some medecines I have to take out. There is lunch in the fridge."
"What?" Frida asked with a teasing smile. "Potato soup..."
"No..." Frida sighed, and Agnetha laughed. "Don't you like it?"
"No, not that much."
Arntine stroked Agnetha's hair just before she said goodbye and went out through the door. Agnetha smiled against her again and said goodbye back.
"God you're grandmother is so sweet!" she exclaimed. "Well, yes."
"Well?! She's like an angel!"
"Okay, yes. Most of the time. But she can be really strict too. If she was your mother she probably would have reacted in the same way."
"I'm not sure. Mom is sometimes just a huge fucking idiot..."
"Don't say so!"
"Why not? It's true..."
"You never know when she will be gone... And then you will regret everything. Be happy that you have a mother..."
"Yes, you're right... Talking about mother, what's your mother's name? And where is she by the way?"

Frida went out to the kitchen and Agnetha walked after.
"I don't have a mother..."
Agnetha felt the feeling like someone was sticking a sword through her heart. "What...? Oh, I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to..."
"It's okay" Frida said and sat down opposite her a bit confused friend.
"So, she's dead?"
Frida nodded. "May I ask what happened?"
Suddenly Agnetha's got shy in front of Frida. She didn't want to ask too much, but she was so curious.
"Of course. She died when I was two by kidney failure. And now I have thought about that it maybe wasn't just that..."
"What else then?" Agnetha asked, and Frida could really see in her face how she felt sorry for her. It felt good, actually. That Agnetha's cared so much about her.
"Mom, who was named Synni waited for dad in two years while taking care of me... I have got to know from grandmother that she waited everyday. And never lost the hope that he would return. But he never did..."
"So... You don't have any dad either, and that's why you live with your grandmother?"
Frida nodded and drank some of her tea. "To have no hope while being sick isn't a good combination for someone who wanna live..." Frida said.
Agnetha shook her head slowly. "What happened to your dad then? Is he out there alive somewhere?"
"I don't think so... Grandmother and I have been searching for him a few years now, but we can't find him. He probably died when his ship back to Germany sank... He was a German soldier..."
"Okay... I'm glad you're talking to me with this trust" Agnetha said with a smile, and Frida looked at her and smiled back. "It means a lot to me..."
"It means a lot to me to have someone who is listening and caring..." Frida said and they took each others hands over the table. "Can I ask you one thing?" Agnetha asked. "Of course, anything."
"We will always be friends, right?"
Frida smiled, and felt how the tears were about to fall. Actually a teardrop fell. "Of course... Even if we have known each other for just one month, it feels like a lifetime. I will always be here for you. Whatever happen..."
Now Agnetha cried too. "I will be here for you whatever happen in the future..."

Agnetha and Frida sat on the sofa in the little living room playing Ludo. Suddenly the telephone rang and Arntine took it. Then she cane into the living room. "It's for you Anni-Frid."
"Who?"
"Ragnar."
Frida took the telephone.
"Hi, Rangnar!"

It was Ragnar, the trombonist of  Bengt Sandlunds big band, the big band she was singing with. But right now she took a little break, it had been too much with it for a while. But Ragnar called to ask if she couldn't do just one more concert of the summer. They had been booked to a very nice restaurant. And it would their first bigger gig. After thinking for a long while, Frida said yes.

"Who is Ragnar?" Agnetha asked.
"He's the trombonist of the band I'm in."
"Alright."
"I have a little short break from the band right now, and the others too by the way! But we have got a quite big gig."
"Where?"
"Don't know. Some more luxury restaurant. I have to talk to Ragnar more later about that."
