Being scolded was always embarrassing. It happened in front of everyone at the institute, and no one enjoys that. Although this time it felt different. Was it the fact that I was being scolded for an actual reason this time? Possibly, but highly unlikely.

"Ray, you are potesless. Stop fighting like you aren't, it won't always end in your favour!" Mentor said in a voice loud enough to draw a few eyes.

"Yes mentor." I say, trying to get out of this situation as quickly as possible. Sigh, "Leave" he says in a more calm tone.

Mentor, a tall and old yet very healthy Japanese man, was a soldier who served in the special forces. After retirement he dedicated his life to mentoring kids with Poteses, apart from me that is.

The ability to know anyone's potes just by a glance. That was my mentor's potes. A simple yet very useful one.

"Ray! You're back already?!" Faye ran to me with a bright smile across her face.
"Would have been back earlier, but the infirmary came first." I said with a bit of a laugh.
"Yeah...I kind of already heard, are you alright?" she asked, concern on her face.
"I'm fine, don't worry. " I replied with a smile. "Where is Liam?" I asked, trying to change the topic.
Faye giggles, "Oh, he's asleep. He stayed up all night trying to awaken his potes." she said. "Again?" I asked also giggling.

Faye and Liam are my siblings, as you might've already guessed. Faye's younger than me, by 3 years to be exact, making her 15. She has long orange hair like me and hazel eyes. But unlike me, she's a Fiara, with quite a strong Potes at that... if used correctly. The ability to control air, a Disaster Potes. Disaster Fiaras weild  the power of Natural disasters, only 3 ever recorded. She is the 4th...hidden from the world.

And Liam was 9, one year away from the age when poteses are awakened, but he's a bit impatient. He has curly dark brown hair, emerald eyes and an abnormally strong build which causes many to mistake him to be older than he actually is. He always brags about how he'll have the most powerful Potes ever known to exist and he trains very hard for the day it will awaken. I admire that he understands that it didn't matter if he has a Potes or not, either way he needs to train to become strong.

It's been just us for some time now. Our parents died six years ago from a car crash. Mom was a powerful Fiara working for special forces and a close friend of mentor's. I remember how beautiful she was. Her smile was just the prettiest. Dad, although potesless like me, was a police officer. He met mom on a job and it was the partners to lovers kinda thing. I don't really remember how dad looked, all I remember was that he was really tall and looked kind.

Mentor brought us here the day we lost our parents, and that's all I remember from my childhood. He says because I experienced alot of shock I now have dissociative amnesia. Basically meaning I forgot everything about my childhood due to emotional trauma. Luckily, us 3 survived the crash, and that was only due to Faye's early awakening.

"Faye, I'm assigning you to your first infiltration mission." Mentor said out of the blue. The room went silent as surprised faces began popping up, excluding one person. Scream... She quickly collected herself. "Ehem, Thank you mentor, I promise not to dissapoint." Faye said grinning. I looked at mentor and gave him a signal to meet me in the kitchen.

"Are you insane?! She's 15!" I yelled at mentor who'd had a "here we go" expression. "Relax, it's relatively safe and no murder will be involved... Hopefully." "Hopefully?!" I repeated in shock.
"She needs experience. Besides, you were also 15 at your first infiltration."
He reminded me.
"That's different, I had talent!" "And she has a Potes!... sigh. Look, Ray, I know you're just worried, but she needs this. " he said.
Mentor knew I had always been sensitive about not having a Potes, so him saying that was a real wake up call. I can't protect Faye forever. She's a Fiara... And I'm just... A weak human."I'll be in charge of her training then." I said as I stormed off.. defeated.
