Faye's mission is in a few hours
and ever since the day she was
assigned, one thing kept
ringing in my head.
"I'm not crazy enough to let Faye go
by herself". I was going to follow her, I would not get in the way unless
her life was at stake. It's what I constantly told myself and of course
Faye, Mentor or anyone else couldn't know about it.

"Promise you'll be safe." I said to Faye as she left the hideout.
"Always" she said with a smile on her face. A few minutes after everyone was asleep I was off for a stroll. The place I wanted to visit most? A building with a 15 year old sneaking around, MIC corporate.

Once we reached MIC, where she would be infiltrating, I watched her smooth entry. She must have had a great teacher.
But once we got inside it was a maze, luckily I had already taught her the routes she would need... I lost Faye about 8 minutes after entering. I knew I was forgetting something, but the routes of all things.

I wandered around looking for her for a bit and heard a cruel voice behind me ask,
"It's Ray, right?". I turned to see a guy probably around my age standing there. He had pink hair, eyes and jewelry. I get the feeling he likes the colour pink. He also had tattoos on his hands and face, with a smile that would you think he just ditched his straitjacket.

The chairman's son, Zac Lloyd. We know next to nothing about him. His Potes, skills, hobbies, whether he was a Fiara, not even allergies. One of the people we should try to avoid at all costs, and he knows my name? Worlds greatest spy award goes to me.

"You know me?" I asked.
"Of course... Your mother was quite the famous Fiara and your dad wasn't just your average officer either.", he said with a grin.
"So you know my parents, not me." I said, feeling relieved I wasn't that bad of a spy.
"How though?" I asked sounding skeptical. I was stalling for time as I thought of ways to escape.
"Well...they did die because of-"
"A car crash." I said cutting him off.
He looked at me as if he was waiting for me to say I was joking.

"Wait, you're not kidding?" He laughed amused.
"Is that really what they told you?"
"Because it's the truth." I said with a stern face trying to look as calm as possible.
"They were murdered." He said as he chuckled, his smile becoming a grin.

"If you were Pinocchio, I might have believed you." I said, dismissing the claims of a psycho.
"It's up to you. You could learn the truth or continue to live a lie. I'd personally choose the latter though." He said with the same annoying grin on his face.

"Who killed them?" I ask in a low voice.
"Now why would I tell you that when you should be busy infiltrating? Or are you switching to interrogation now?" He said laughing. He knows about the mission, but doesn't seem to know about Faye.
"I wasn't sent to hurt you. I'm tailing someone." I said irritated.
"Ahh... I see... Let's make a deal then. I tell you your parents' killer and you tell me where I can find the rat you're tailing. Fair right? Truth for truth." He bargained.
And make Faye fail her first mission? Yeah right, but I'm getting that information.

"Fine. Deal." I said.
"Great then." He said grinning ear to ear. "The person who killed your parents was your-" The sound of a gunshot echoed across the hallway and he dropped cold on the floor.

I didn't know where the shot came from, but it wouldn't take a genius to know the next one would be for me. So wasting no time I got out of the building. I'll go outside then wait for Faye in case anything happens, then I'll follow her back to base.

As I waited, I couldn't help but think about what Zac said,"The person who killed your parents was your-" "Was my what? So it's someone close to me?" I asked myself. No matter, I just have to talk to Mentor. He of all people should know... He wouldn't lie, right?

The only thing I could do was calm myself, as I waited there questioning my savior while fearing my sister's safety . After about fifteen minutes Faye smoothly made her way out and headed to base, unaware of her overprotective stalker tagging along.

I made sure to go ahead of her so I could arrive first. Once I arrived, I quickly changed and made my way to mentor's washitsu.
Knock knock knock "Mentor, are you up?" I asked with my head leaning against the fusuma.
"... Enter" mentor said in a harsh voice. Now I'm scared, he doesn't know I snuck out right?

I had to enter if I wanted to ask about my parents, so I went in.
"You broke the rules, Ray." He said facing away from me. Dang it, he knows...
" You can scold me later but first, how did my parents die?"
