Author's POV

It was early evening, and the rain had finally eased, leaving the house bathed in a soft, misty glow. Samyukta and Abhimanyu came downstairs, trying their best to act nonchalant, though the slight flush on Samyukta's cheeks and the flush on Abhimanyu's face betrayed them.

As they reached the bottom of the stairs, they were immediately met by Nandini, who stood with her hands on her hips, her brows furrowed in frustration.

"Where were you two? People will start arriving soon, and neither of you is ready yet! You even skipped lunch. What's going on?"

She asked in a tone firm.

Samyukta opened her mouth to answer, but before she could, Samrat and Abhishree appeared from the living room. They had already arrived earlier, and from the knowing looks on their faces, it was clear they had been discussing 'things' amongst themselves.

Samrat's eyes darted to Abhimanyu's damp hair, then to Samyukta's, and a slow smirk spread across his face.

"Well, well, looks like someone decided to take a midday... shower?"

He chuckled, his voice filled with mischief.

Abhishree joined in, her gaze trailing over Samyukta, noticing how tired and slightly disheveled she looked.

"Or maybe have some fun in the rain. You both look... fresh. Or should I say... thoroughly refreshed?"

She teased, winking at Samyukta, who immediately blushed, her eyes widening in embarrassment.

"Ah, yes," Samrat added, pretending to ponder, "they both look a bit too exhausted for just a simple shower. I wonder what kind of... intense activity could've caused that?"

Abhishree laughed, leaning back against the wall with his arms crossed.

"Skipping lunch, huh? Must've had something else to... feast on, I suppose?"

Their double meaning words, and the grin on their face showed just how much they were enjoying teasing them.

Samyukta's face turned even redder as she looked at them, her voice barely audible.

"It's... not what you think."

"Oh, sweetheart," Abhishree laughed, waving her hand dismissively.

Nandini, oblivious to the teasing, was still focused on the event preparations.

"Enough! Get dressed, both of you! There's no time left!"

As Nandini walked away, Samrat nudged Abhimanyu with his elbow.

"You know, you could've at least dried your hair, bro."

Abhimanyu shrugged, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Tere thobre ka intezaar kar raha tha."

Samrat scoffed.

Samyukta's face was burning with embarrassment, but there was no denying the small, contented smile tugging at her lips. Despite the teasing, she couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction, knowing exactly why she looked the way she did.

Abhishree gave Samyukta a playful wink before nudging her toward the stairs.

"Go on, love, get ready. But don't want to wear yourself out before the evening's even started, right?"

Samyukta shot her a mock glare but it didn't effect her Shree.

The teasing was relentless, but deep down, she knew they were happy for her. And, though she wouldn't admit it out loud, so was she.
