"thank merlin thats over"

It was a warm summers day, the last of school for those who attended Hogwarts. It had been a long year for the students, that went far too quick for the fifth year students. Everyone had said that fifth year went by quickly, but none of them believed it till it actually had. One second it was Christmas, the next it was the last day of school.

O.W.Ls had taken over their lives, and the amount of facts about toads that Sophie could quote made her worry both for her sanity and the wizarding world (they used toads an abnormally large amount).

"I never want to see a toad again" Sophie responded to her best friend Taylor.

Taylor and her had been friends since first year, she was a force to be reckoned with. Sophie was walking down the corridor of the Hogwarts Express, trying to hold back her tears. She was never good at making friends and had only ever really been friends with her grandparents. The girl was terrified about Hogwarts and honestly wanted to be back in her home in Greece, by the beach with a book in her hand.

She briefly looked out the window, in search of her grandparents, who spotted her looking and waved. Just as she lifted her hand to wave back she fell to floor.

"sorry!" the voice came from a boy with messy hair and round glasses, however she didn't have long to examine him as he was already running across the train.

She felt extremely embarrassed for fooling over and wanted to hide in deep deep hole in the ground, preferably six feet deep. She had fallen in front a compartment full of  older students who were giggling slightly. However a small girl exited the compartment and started chasing the boy shouting some awful words at him.

Sophie pulled herself up just as the train had started and began moving forward, attempting to hide her flushed cheeks. Before she got far the girl who had ran after the boy jogged back towards Sophie.

"Don't worry I sorted him out."  This made Sophie slightly scared having no idea what had happened to that boy, but was drawn to the girl and her confidence. "Taylor, Taylor Reid" She introduced with her hand out waiting to be shaken.

"I'm Sophie" she replied shaking here hand.

To this day, Sophie has no idea what Taylor had done or said to that messy haired boy, but she saw him later at the sorting with a slightly sore arm.

The girls walked hand in hand across the school grounds, talking about the exam and what they had written. It was a bad habit to talk over their exams, when there was nothing to do now, however there was a sense of relief that each got when they both got the same answer. If the answer was wrong at least they weren't alone in getting the answer wrong.

The two automatically went the there designated spot under a willow tree next to the black lake. This place had officially become theirs when Taylor shouted at a first year boy who was sat in the area, making him cry. Sophie had laughed when it first happened, as that is her natural response when someone cries, however found the boy later and apologised to him (she made up a lie that Taylor found out someone died under that tree and it is a great comfort to her). No one went near that tree other than them since, so the lie obviously worked (or everyone thought Taylor was too scary and didn't to risk going near the tree)

"what are you wearing tonight?" Taylor asked, while looking in her bag to find the last of her textbooks for her to rip, a ritual the girls had adopted during exam season.

"ugh don't remind me of that stupid party" Sophie moaned.

"come on you love parties"

"But I have NOTHING to wearrr" Sophie was obsessed with fashion and was known as the best dressed in the school. However this title takes a lot of hard work and a good few hours before and event to find the perfect outfit.

"girl you have more clothes in your wardrobe than the entire castle combined. I think you can find something" Sophie rolled her eyes to this comment, however didn't deny it. Instead she just laid down, blocking the sun in her eyes with her arms.

Before she could get too relaxed Alice Fortescue, their best friend, came running over to them. This obviously meant something important because Alice hated running.

"guys, guys, guys, guys" she was saying in before she reached them, then stopping and crouching to catch her breath. The other two looked at her and then each other before giggling slightly at their friend.

"what is it al?" Sophie asked while the girl was still obviously exhausted.

"did you realise how to use a pen again. Now al, what have we told you about running about with pens instead of quills. You'll scare the first years." Taylor's sarcasm made Sophie laugh but the daggers Alice was throwing made her stop.

"Lily and James broke up" She replied, earning a scream from the two other girls.

"fuck off" Sophie instantly said.

"your lying." Taylor added. The infamous couple had been dating since the start of the school year after many many more years of James embarrassing himself in order for her to go out with him. It shocked everyone when she said yes, but this was more shocking.

Alice simply shook her head, "Lily told me herself".

this made the two girls gape in shock, thinking about the information. Neither of them particularly liked the couple, mainly because they thought James was a dick, but thought Lily had made him a little less dickhead-ish.

"wow" was all Sophie could say about it.

heyy, I hope u like the little introduction to Taylor, Sophie and Alice.

In my mind everyone at school is terrified of Taylor but loves Sophie and thinks she's a sweetheart. Also the trio are addicted to gossip.
