School Days

For the rest of the school year after Sang's birthday party, Jungkook would sneak time with you. He would hold your hand where others couldn't see or brush a kiss against your cheek between the locker and a classroom door out of sight of others. You thought he was just being shy, but you had such a huge crush on him.

The other boys in school would wink at you and whistle when they walked past you standing at your locker.

On school holidays, Jungkook would walk over to your house and stay until dark, telling you of his dreams of one day becoming an idol. You believed in him. You never had any doubt that one day, his dream would come true. He would keep singing to you, asking you to tell him honestly how he sounded. He seemed so insecure in his singing ability. Your aunt, a vocal coach, thought you two were so cute together that she started giving him free lessons.

You thought you were growing close, but in reality, he was being pressured by his friends, and his visits became less frequent. He wasn't acting the same around you. You didn't know what was going on with him.

Gigi suggested it was just a stage of puberty he was going through. It seemed the whole puberty thing enthralled Gigi, but she was planning on being a pediatrician when she grew up, so you ignored her most of the time.

Jungkook suddenly stopped talking to you and started avoiding you altogether at school. You found out it was more than just something going on with puberty. By the end of the following week, you see him walking down the hall hand in hand with the new girl at school, where all could see.  There was no ducking behind doors for chaste kisses or secret hand holding. You watched him during lunch doing cute little things he did when he would come to see you.

Your friend, Gigi, wanted to beat him up for you. She even offered to have her cousin Yoongi, an upperclassman, beat him up for you. But you kept saying no.

It wasn't long before the other boys at school started harassing you. When going to your seats, there is an accidental touch here or there in passing or in class. You would feel a hand on your bottom or an elbow push against your breast. It was subtle at first, and the more they did, the more emboldened they became. You never told anyone because you were too afraid to speak out. You just hoped they would stop.

Now it had advanced to flipping up your skirt as their fingers brushed against you to them snapping your bra from behind.

One day, you were headed to the girls' restroom when several boys surrounded you and dragged you into the boys' restroom.

"Leave me alone! Let me go!" you cry.

"Kook tells us you're soft in all the right places, and we just want to know . . . are you?"

Shocked and afraid, you hoarsely whisper out, "What?"

Another boy says, "He says you're an ok kisser but that you have gotten better."

One grabs you and pulls you close, "Kiss me. I want to know if it is as sweet as he says."

You struggle against him, crying, "Let me go!"

The first one is pushing up your skirt, grinning while you're being held by the other, trying to kiss you. The third one is the one you remember from Sang's birthday party. He smiles at you, caressing your cheek.

"We know you and Kook got it on in the closet. We thought you were cold, but now we know you're not."

"Let me go!! STOP, please!"

The restroom door opens, and they hear whistling. They shove you into one of the stalls, "Shut up and stay quiet or else!" and they stand blocking the door.

Yoongi is whistling as he walks in and goes to a stall away from where the boys are standing. He stops and turns around, looking at them.

"What are you up to?" He noticed the guilt in their eyes and the sweat on their brows when he walked in.

He hears a feminine gasp. You recognize Gi's cousin's voice and start hitting the stall door, crying out, "Yoongi, help me!"

You hear him yell, "What the hell? Mia, is that you?"

He storms over to the stall, and the boys part ways and run from the restroom. He pulls open the stall door, and you fall into his arms, crying. He holds you and pulls his phone out of his pocket to call Gi. A couple of guys walk in, and with one look from him, they turn around and leave.

Yoongi held you in his arms as you cried until Gi came running in. She suddenly stopped, looking around.

"I've never been in the boys' restroom before. It's just like ours except for those things." Gi says, bewildered, pointing at the strange low sinks on the wall. "Why do they have two different kinds of sinks?"

Yoongi rolls his eyes then says, "Gi . . . " he looks at her, then Mia.

"Oh, sorry, yeah. Mia, what are you doing here? Are you alright? What happened? Don't you know this is the boy's restroom? What . . ."

A rough sigh is heard coming from Yoongi. She stops talking, and he says, "Gi, can't you see she's upset?"

Gi takes you from Yoongi, and you hold on to her, crying even more. A boy walks in, and Yoongi glares at him. He turns and leaves. Yoongi then takes the out-of-order sign and hangs it on the door so no one else will come in.

He walks back to you, "Mia, tell me what happened. Are you hurt? Do we need to take you to the nurse?"

"Take her to the nurse? Why?" asks Gi, and then she looks at you. "What happened?"
