After dinner with Rose and your sister the following week, they didn't mention you talking to Jungkook once, much to your relief. You don't know why they suddenly stopped after nagging you for so long, but you're happy for whatever reason they did.
Usually, those two are like a dog with a bone, never letting anything go till they get what they want. Maybe it was just because they were so wrapped up in each other, busy planning a trip together, that they didn't have time to worry you over Jungkook. At least, that is what you hope.
You help Yoongi and Gi's husband, Brent, hold a birthday party for his daughter, your godchild. Through Yoongi, all the members have become close friends with Brent and his young daughter. They thought it would be a great idea to hold the birthday party at their mansion since they had a massive game room. Jeni loved it, and they let her invite her friends as well.
Later that day, Jeni hugged you and Yoongi and thanked you, and she said, "I'm having so much fun. It's the best birthday ever! Thank you."
You smile, hug her, laughing, and say, "Welcome to being a teenager. Happy thirteenth birthday, Jeni."
Yoongi pouts and says, "Hey, don't hog her all to yourself. I want a hug, too."
You and Jeni laugh, and she happily steps into his outstretched arms. He hugs her tightly, and she playfully whines, "Ugh, I can't breathe. Let go." He hugs her even tighter before letting her go, causing her to giggle.
Brent takes his daughter's hand and then says to Yoongi, "Thank you, Yoongi," he includes you, "Thank you, Mia. I don't know what I would have done without you both helping me raise her."
You tell him, "She is just starting her teenage years, so if she is anything like her mother, there is still a lot more raising to do." You look at Jeni with love in your eyes. She is so much like Gigi that sometimes it hurts.
Yoongi and Brent fondly laugh, as they know the fun antics you and Gi used to get up to as besties. Jeni blushes as she has heard some of the stories too.
Brent pulls his daughter close and kisses the top of her head.
She pushes away, rolling her eyes. "Awe, Dad, stop embarrassing me." He lets her go, and she runs back over to her cluster of friends.
You, Yoongi, and Brent are standing there watching them and discussing how much Jeni has grown. They hear a round of laughter and giggles as she comes hurrying over. She is all smiles and excitement.
She looks at her dad and asks, "Dad, can I have an empty soda bottle?"
Confused, he asks, "Why?"
In the exuberance of a teenager, she gleefully tells her dad, "They want to play Spin the Bottle."
Yoongi and you both snap, "No!" startling her.
"I'm sorry, Jeni. I didn't mean to startle you," you tell her as her dad places a hand on her shoulder. He playfully chides her, drawing her attention away from the look on both of your faces.
"Honey, there are so many fun things to do here. It's like going to an arcade, and they want to play that ancient game?" He looks at her, suggesting that playing Spin the Bottle is a very old game. "No one plays that anymore." He laughs, glancing at you apologetically.
Jeni huffs a little sigh, "It's an old game like you used to play?"
He laughs and says, "Yeah, it's that old."
You and Yoongi look at each other. Yoongi reaches for your hand and gently squeezes. He whispers, "You ok?"
You whisper to him, "I feel positively ancient now." Trying to distract him from how you feel. He was always so in tune with you.
