Miranda's pov

I'm surprised that they haven't tried to catch us again as the sun is in our eyes with our backs to the fences. I'd be so glad if they just left us alone but of course that won't happen. "What do ya think they're gonna do next?" I ask. He shrugs, his arm protectively around my shoulders. Just as I thought we were catching a break, a guy in a military outfit stands in front of us. "Oh darn I thought they forgot about us." Jason mutters sarcastically. The guy smiles. "I know ya wanna get out of here." He says. I look up at him surprised. Jason stands up. "Oh wait, I know you! You're the injured soldier we rescued!" He gasps. He nods. "You helped me now I'm going to help you." He says. I stand up. My darling husband grips my hand confidently. "We are finally getting outta here!" He cries, spinning me around and hugging me. He's sure excited. "But here's the bad news." The guy starts. "Oh no." Jason says, setting me back down. "You'll have to look different like dye your hair and change your clothes." He explains. "Hidden in plain sight! You're a genius!" I gasp. "I don't know, I'll still be able to wear my hat won't I?" Jason asks doubtfully. I laugh. "Honey, you can take it with you when we go." I say with a smile. I kiss his cheek and hug him tight. We change and Jason holds my hand. I can see the fear in his eyes. "We're going to be okay." I say. "Every time we've tried to escape, we've gotten caught. What if we get caught they take you away from me?" He says, sounding terrified. I hug him. "They won't catch us." I say. "But what if they do?" He gasps, grabbing my wrist. "They won't." I assure him. He's reluctant to let go of me but he has to. If we walk together it'll be more suspicious.

Jason's pov

She walks away to where she's three people in front of me. "If something happens to her, I don't know what I'll do." I mumble to myself, my eyes never leaving her. I hear a guard saying clear. She's next. He looks over her then at a computer screen then at her again. "I think you have to step out of line, miss." He says, causing bile to rise in my throat. Her hands are shaking so she stuffs them in her pockets. The guard leaves and returns with a check! I'm thoroughly confused. "You forgot your paycheck Mrs. Enddire." He says. They think she's some kind of worker. She gets on the plane and so do the others. He waves me on through with no questions asked. I nearly pass out from relief. I run to my girl and she hugs me tighter than she's ever hugged me before. "Now, we're going home." I say. " oh yeah, there was no way I was going out like that." She says, kissing me. She snuggles up next to me as the plane takes off. "I'm on my way, yeah I'm on my way, home sweet home." She whisper sings the lyrics to a Justin Moore song. "Yeah, tonight, tonight I'm on my way so set me free, home sweet home."
