The rest of the day passed in a blur. Thankfully, I didn't get detention. Ava had forgiven my bad taste in fashion and fully decided on the little black dress, as it was clearly 'more sexy' than a floral one. Lunch was sloppy joe's, which Dan and I passed in favour of a vending machine salad. I never trusted the sloppy joe's at the cafeteria.

Once classes were over I walked Ava back to her car and made my way over to the yearbook club. When I walked in to the computer lab where we worked, I could only see 3 of the 4 regulars. Amy, Sarah and Aaron were all sat at computers, looking at various pages of the book.

"Where's Joe?" I asked the room as I walked in and set my bag down on the table.

"Sick. Mono or something" responded Aaron, looking up from his computer. "He did manage to e-mail over some border ideas for the class photos, though"

"Cool. Are they any good? I'll look once I've gone through last night's chess photos"

"I've not checked yet. How was the chess match? Riveting and full of excitement, I hope?" he smiled.

"Of course. I mean come on, people moved pieces for 45 minutes. I thought the excitement would never end! Wheeler was a victorious winner, though. Ran out the door screaming that he was a champion"

"Aw, Michael's cute. I'm sure he was just excited" Amy commented, still starting at the computer screen.

We all turned to look at her. Amy sensed that she was being watched and turned her neck to stare blankly at us all. "Did I say that out loud?" She cringed.

"Um, yes!" We all chorused. "Amy has a crush on Michael!" Sarah exclaimed, cracking up.

"Oh shut up! I don't not have a crush on Michael! So I think he's cute? So what?" Amy retorted, throwing a piece of popcorn at Sarah's head.

"You guys would be so adorable!" I gushed, while Aaron wrote on the white board 'Amy <3 Michael'

"Oh come on you guys are so lame. I don't have a crush on Michael" Amy rolled her eyes at us all and went back to work on the computer.

I chuckled and walked over to the cabinet, where the yearbook camera was located. Before I could get the key in lock, Aaron pointed out the camera, which was already sitting on the desk and plugged in to the printer. "All ready for you, El"

"Thanks, Aaron" he smiled at me and went back to work on the computer. Sometimes I thought that Aaron might have the tiniest crush on me. He was always eager to make conversation and help me out with everything to make my life easier. He never said anything and I also chose to ignore it. I didn't want to bring it up and make things awkward, and by the looks on it neither did he. Aaron was so sweet and funny, but unfortunately I had eyes on someone else.

I turned on the camera and selected all the photos from the chess match the night before. I selected to print them all and put the camera back down while the printer went to work, before making my way over to Sarah's computer to see what she was up to.

"Hey. What's going on?" I asked.

"Hm. Well I'm working on the senior teachers page. I like all the photos but I think they look a bit crowded. Don't you think?"

"I guess I see what you mean, why don't you try and reduce each picture by about a millimetre diagonally? By the time you've worked through them all they should make a big difference to the page" I offered.

"Sure. I'll give it a go" Sarah smiled up and me and went to work.

It wasn't like I lead the yearbook club or anything, I just had the most invested in it, and I was the main photographer. This was my one achievement, the main thing I wanted to take from this school. The yearbook would stay with all of us for the rest of our lives. The other 4 loved yearbook too, but respected my decisions.
