When the following morning comes, Ryujin awakes to an empty bed.

It's supposed to feel normal. It's supposed to. But it's not.

Rather, a large part of her feels disappointed to see the spot beside her empty. How come Yeji always wakes up before her, even when she knocked out drunk? That's another difference between them.

Trying to ignore the unknown aching in her chest, Ryujin goes through her morning routine and finally exits her room. However, it seems as if she forgot about her best friend who fell asleep on her couch last night, because when she emerges from her bedroom, she's met with a pillow to her face.

"What the-"

"YOU SLEPT WITH YEJI????"

Ryujin shakes off her shock and bends down to pick up the pillow. Her confused eyes shift to her disheveled best friend. "What are you saying right now??"

Chaeryeong's eyes widen even more despite her earlier fatigue. "I saw Yeji walk out of your room this morning! You better explain now!"

"Woah, okay wait. Calm down," Ryujin throws the pillow to the couch and holds her best friend by the shoulders. She slowly pushes Chaeryeong to sit. "I didn't sleep with Yeji, okay? I don't know why the first thing you assume is that we slept together."

"Anyone would! You have a crush on her and she was drunk!" Chaeryeong makes a good point, somewhat. "You're so lucky I didn't barge into your room the moment I saw her."

Ryujin unconsciously ignores what the girl says and instead, scratches her head in curiosity. "What did she look like? Did you say anything to her?"

"No, I didn't say anything to her. She didn't even notice me. She was out of it though, unlike her usual self," Chaeryeong answers, now seemingly interested in what happened while she was snoozing. "Mind telling me what went down and why you two slept in the same room?"

"She drunk called me," Ryujin replies, "I picked her up and I honestly don't know why I didn't drop her off at her apartment instead."

Chaeryeong gives her a look.

Ryujin knows what that look means and she immediately backtracks. "My intentions were innocent. I promise."

The other girl bobs her head up and down, leaning back into the leather couch. "Did anything else happen then?"

"She... apologized?" Ryujin says hesitantly, receiving a questioning look as well. Last night, her feelings were a lot to handle so she barely registered the fact that Yeji truly apologized. But now that it's sinking in and she admitted it out loud, Ryujin finds herself feeling guilty for brushing the girl off like that.

And so she tells Chaeryeong all of that. Though she anticipated the inevitable repercussion, she hadn't quite foreseen the ten vigorous pillow whacks that met her face.

Ryujin's morning had been nothing short of eventful. Yet, despite it all, her longing to see Yeji remained as strong as ever.
