December 11 2015,

Greetings,

My name is Odette. That's right, I was named after the main character of The Swan Lake ballet recital . My mom's a big fan of ballet recital thus she named me Odette. But hey, at least she didn't named me odile right?

In case if you're wondering, i'm a woman, of course. My hair's colour is brunette with a pair of light brown eyes, and I'm turning 27 years old this year. I have an average height and weight. Now, I do have confidence to say that I am pretty in a kind of way because every woman are unique and beautiful in their own way. That was what my dear husband use to said to me.

Moving on, my life as a child was very weird. People used to call me a freak since I hadn't had many friends and I always stayed up at home either watching the tv or simply read books. Both my mom and dad both believe in ghost, demon tales, practically everything mythical that you know, they believed that they exist. And considering my situation now, I believe in them as well.

But, before all this happens, I didn't care about those things for I do not care for things that I believe to not to be existed.

However, growing up, both my mom and dad always made me listed the 10 holy rules in my house.

Here's the guide for "survival" according to my parents :

1. Never fell asleep with your feet facing the door or there'll be someone who'll knock rapidly on your door in the middle of the night.
My experience : Nope, i've never tried this before because my freaking bed is nailed to the floor. So, feel free to try this one and tell me if it's true.

2. Never fell asleep with your covers covering your head or there'll be a girl's head dangling out under you.
My experience : Hah. I seriously feel that covering your whole body will be like burning in hell because of the heat. So no, i've never tried this before. Again, feel free to contact me if this happens to you.

3. If you're entering a hotel room when you're out of the country, knock on it 3 times before you enter the room or it'll haunt you.
My experience : Yes, I do believe in this one because of my friend's story.

4. I'm sure most of you know this but i'm telling you anyway. Never say bloody mary 3 times while you're alone in the room when it's dark.
My experience : Never will try it.

5. Don't ever spaces out when you're alone or you'll be possessed.
My experience : Dad says i've done it before when I was a kid and he said that I almost broke all the things in the house by going spiritsy?

6. If you ever feel that somebody's watching you, literally there's someone who's currently watching you. Don't ever turn around or look for the sources when you're alone or the ghost will haunt you.
My experience : I've had that feeling a couple times and I've never turn around because i don't want to believe it.

7. Never put a mirror in front of your bed or a person's face will appear when it's midnight
My experience : I never try this one because again my freaking bed was nailed down to the floor.

8. Don't ever stab your spoon or utensils straight up to the centre of the food you're eating or you're basically like inviting the dead to eat at the food, therefore your house will be swarmed by them.
My experience : I've never tried this before. Both my parents always hit me right on the head when I do this.

9. Don't whistle in the dark. The consequences for this is completely unknown considering I've never asked them about this one. And I can't whistle.

10. This one is the most forbidden one of all those above. Never ever buy an old mirror then look dead right in the centre of it for a whole minute while saying your name. Be it you wanna check how you look or just for narcissism. I don't have an old mirror, so ...

So there's the guide according to my parents and unfortunately I decided to ignore them when I was in the young age of 18. And the rules I ignore are rule number 9 and 10. Which in case you haven't notice, has lacked of my experience testimonial on it.

On the serious note, publishing this book has been a miracle for me , seeing how many tears that I have shed for remembering the occurrence that happen when I went through this journey.

I have lost a lot yet I have learned so much.

I've learned how to be happy. How it feel when you love someone so dearly that you would die for that someone. How it feel when you realise that the world does not work like you wish at all time. How it feels like when you carry so many things in your heart. And lastly how it feel when you lost your other half but gain another.

Up until now, I've never understand what it meant by happy ever after.

Does it meant that I'm happy till now? If it is like that then yes, I'm truly living my happy ever after.

Does it meant that I have no regrets like cinderella who has her prince charming? If it is like that then no, I'm not truly living my happy ever after.

But, I'm happy for my own life. And it shall be that way till my kids grow old and have kids again.

Oh enough of me spoiling the story for you, here's the story of how I break my parents rule of number 9 and 10.

Sincerely,

Queen Odette
