I was out on a boat, like everyday on the sea. There's not a cloud in the sky. The sun as bright as can be.
I was out on my own, just enjoying the day. I smell a change in the weather. Something's coming my way.
A few hours later, it was starting to rain. Clouds filling the sky. I already felt pain.
The waves started moving, the harder they rock. I start heading for home. I con not find a dock.
Waves rocking harder, as hard as I fight. I fall overboard. There is no sign of light.
I am pushed underwater, I do not know how to swim. Air is escaping my lungs. The water pushing my limbs.
Air leaving my body, as the deeper I drown. My consciousness is fading. I feel myself going down.
The more that I go, the deeper I sink. The waves pull me through the current. With this last hope, I start to blink.
My normal attire, now gone I can see. I am now alive, now safe and calm. I look down to see a brand new tail, and wonder "What has happened to me?".
What I used to remember, now all feels like a dream. The storm has now ended. Swiming gracefully I feel like part of a team.
The ways I help out out, helps the creatures of the sea. I am the mermaid. The storm set me free.
So here I ask you, if you choose to do so. Help me preserve the oceans. Only my friends, never a foe.
