What If Anakin Skywalker Stayed in the Council Chambers?

Anakin sat in the council chambers thinking about his wife, Padme. He thought of the nightmares and what would happen to her if Anakin couldn't save her. He thought about Palpatine's words. "He is the only way to save her," Anakin thought to himself. 

Anakin began to stand up, but another thought crossed his mind. How did he know about a Sith lord that the Jedi didn't? Plagueis the wise must've been his master. How did he know that Anakin was looking for a way to prevent someone from dying before Anakin ever mentioned it to his friend?

He sat back in the chair and stared out at the city skyline as he slowly began to realize the truth. Palpatine was behind his nightmares somehow. How much had he been behind all of these years? He told Anakin to kill Dooku so that Anakin would be further driven into the dark and eventually replace the former Jedi master.

Anakin calmed his mind and began to meditate and feel the force. He now knew the truth behind the entire war. Palpatine had truly been behind everything and this entire war was to consolidate power into him as Chancellor. He then heard a familiar voice he hadn't heard in many years. "Anakin?" "Focus Anakin." "Calm yourself and focus on the force." It was the voice of Qui Gon Jinn. Anakin thought he was going crazy, but listening and felt the emotions of happiness and peace flow through him.

This continued until a tired and worn Mace Windu entered the room, having defeated the Dark Lord of the Sith and already gathered the camera evidence necessary for the emergency senate meeting that would come the next morning. He sat in his seat and looks over to Skywalker who is still in deep meditation and smiles. Anakin had finally found some peace and earned the trust of the former Master of the Order. "You've done well Skywalker."

The next day after a grueling senate meeting, everything had been explained and the corruption began to bleed out into a loud and rowdy senate. Master Windu's name had been cleared and Senator Bail Organa had been named Chancellor elect until a formal election could be held. He immediately departed to enter peace talks with the Separatists while the Jedi council would meet to discuss the previous night's events. The council applauded Windu before then applauding Skywalker for making the right decision before asking him to kneel in the middle of the chamber.

Skywalker had achieved the one thing he always dreamed of. Anakin Skywalker was granted the rank of Jedi Master and would now be granted access to the restricted section of the Jedi archives. He spent days digging through everything in search of the power to save his wife. Eventually, he stumbled across a Holocron discussing and teaching the fundamentals of a technique known as force healing. He spent every waking moment mastering this power until the day came for Padme to give birth. 

Anakin stayed by her side through the whole process until he looked upon two little children named Luke and Leia. The family would depart for Senator Amidala's apartment the next day to celebrate where Anakin would be met by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ashoka Tano. Skylwaker tried to explain, but the wise Jedi Master told his former padawan that he had known for some time and congratulated the two. A small celebration was held as the family enjoyed each other's company until the two Jedi Masters had to depart for a council meeting.

The council discussed the next moves to be made by the order when Skywalker's conscious told him to come clean about his family. Just as he uttered a single word, his master started to speak explaining Skywalker's relationship with Senator Amidala and asked that an exception to the rule be made for the Chosen One and Hero of the Republic. The council whispered amongst themselves as Skywalker now stood in the center of the room. "Allow this, we will. Young Skywalker. Take your seat, you must." Skywalker thanked the council and took his seat.

The next few months would be chaotic with the end of the war and the now public relationship of a Senator and Jedi Master. The public came to accept the arrangement as it was between their hero, Anakin Skywalker, and the popular Senator Padme Amidala. Chancellor Bail Organa would be sworn in officially after a close election between himself and Mon Mothma. the Republic would send a large swath of clones to the outer rim to begin cleaning up the corruption while other clones would move into other industrial positions or become part of independent security forces or militias. Peace had been achieved because of one decision made by the chosen one which ultimately brought balance as destined to be.
