Brady's birthday

It was the 30th of December, in my opinion, the most special and important day of the year.

As we walked down the bustling streets of New Jersey, where I walked beside Brady. Our secret lingered in the shadows, we've been a thing for quite some time but it's not public. As we walked to our destination I couldn't help but brush my hand against his, fighting the urge to grab it.

We finally got to our destination. I planned a surprise birthday party for Brady, gathering our closest friends for dinner at my favorite restaurant.

'' A restaurant?'' He turned to look at me, he looked puzzled.

'' Yeah, it's your birthday I wanted to do something'' I replied smiling, I made sure no one was looking before I quickly kissed him.

'' Come on, our friends are waiting'' His eyes brightened and we went inside.

I guided us through the room because I knew where our table was. At the very back was my reservation and everyone was there. They all looked at us and wished Brady happy birthday.

We sat down and let the night continue.

We ate, shared embarrassing stories, and said heartfelt toasts. Our secret was still hidden, blistering the air with anticipation.

'' Hey,'' he pulled me closer, '' Thank you so much'' He whispered in my ear.

I smiled looking at our friends taking videos and photos of themselves, too busy to see me and Brady.

'' No problem, you're just so special to me'' I whispered back.

We were way too close, our relationship was supposed to be a secret.

But his green eyes were melting me, I inched my face closer to his. I could feel his breath.

I knew I shouldn't have but I pushed my lips gently against his, and our hands found each other under the table. We quickly shared a soft kiss.

Our moment was interrupted with a click and a camera was pointing at us.

'' Aww I didn't know you guys were a thing'' One of our friends said, lowering the camera.

'' Exactly, no one knows'' panic shot right through me, '' Please delete the photo'' I said, discarding Brady's hand.

'' Why? Why don't you just go public?'' Our friend asked.

I would have answered but I was too panicked to talk.

'' It's just we don't need people hating and being nosy, so we thought keeping it quiet would be best'' Brady explained.

'' Okay, I understand I'll delete it''

I felt all the worry drain from me.

'' Oh no''

It came all right back in a second. I shot up.

'' What!' I asked

'' Uhm, I might have posted it,'' they said.

I felt the blood drain from my face.

'' Delete the post!'' I raised my voice.

'' OK, I will but it's too late 1,000 people have seen it all ready,'' they said, '' I'm sorry''

I looked at Brady and he looked just as afraid.

Our secret was out, to the world.

Our forbidden love is now viral.

I quickly got out of my seat, heading outside. I'm feeling so overwhelmed, I needed fresh air.

I'm so in my head that I hadn't even noticed Brady embracing me.

'' Hey, hey'' he quietly said, '' Don't worry, whatever happens next, I'll be there to help. I'm never leaving your side.'' He mentions, rubbing my back

'' I'm not going to let anyone hurt you'' He whispers.

I hug him tighter, believing his words.

I feel a lot better about our viral love.

I place my lips on his, lingering our kiss, and I rest my forehead on his.

''Happy birthday'' I wished him.
