Alexandre's POV
Her face when I tossed the brown envelope made me feel so bad that I had to force myself to recall the reason I got that angry. Most don't know but given her profession, I expected better or wait maybe it is her profession that has turned her into a heartless bitch.
Before going further, I think I'd be best to explain why I'm disguised as a man. My name is Alexandra Spenz and I was born a twin. My brother Alexander Spenz went missing over a month ago while in Spain. My parents died about 6 years ago in a arms deal gone wrong and I think my brothers disappearance is connected to their death, however as a woman I won't be accepted as the leader of my dad's company so I need the woman I'm trying to marry to help me find my brother and it would benefit him to be married to the best assassin there is in California.
I was attracted to her at first sight. She got out of her vehicle a day ago and walked into the coffeehouse I visited everyday, however instead of placing an order she sat across from me and the look she leveled me with was the sexiest thing I had ever seen. I'm attracted to her which makes this a dangerous game but she has never been in a relationship based on my research. Everyone calls her a shrewd and with a face and body like that I'm sure she has broken many hearts but back to why I need her expertise
I watched as Mira opened the envelope and began reading the documents, she stopped at what looked like the second paragraph from where I sat and grabbing the pen on the table between us scribbled something and as she wrote the expressions that passed her features intrigued me so much that I began smiling. We sat in silence for what felt like an eternity as she read and added notes to the contract when she raised her hand to the bun on her head and slipped out a hairpin causing her thick curls to cascade beautifully down to her shoulders before anyone could react she made a clear shot through the curtain where someone stood spying. We all stood up and I looked from the curtain to her
"Why the hell did you do that, you don't even know who that is"
She raised an annoyed gaze at me
"Well if he is with you, he's a spy because my dads men know that this meeting is not to be interrupted and if you did bring someone else, his death is on your hands"
At this point anger began to boil my insides but before I could retort she got up, dropped the papers and envelope and started for the door after a few strides she spoke over her shoulder
"We'll get married on the day and time of your liking and remember our goal is finding your sister and I apologize about my rude comment earlier I did skim the file dad sent me. I will do all I can to reunite the family you still have"
I don't know why but at that moment she seemed to have more feelings than I've seen since I met her and it made me feel worse for my reaction to her earlier assumptions................
I woke up to a knock on my door, staggering to get out of bed. I walked drearily to the door swinging it open since I already knew who was on the other side. Michael stood there dressed in what I remembered calling a stuffy bank teller's outfit back when I was allowed to be myself at least in gender, that is, the tender, innocent lady everyone knew was not the real me but I had a role to play as I do now. Micheal give me a once over before speaking
"So are you going to get dressed for your meeting?"
I looked at him confused, I thought we canceled everything on the schedule
"We did but you do have to meet your fiancé in order to finalize your marriage date, please don't tell me you forgot"
I looked at him sheepishly
"So! Are you going through with this or not?" He asked impatiently
I smiled and turned away to get myself together. After a shower I looked in my closet trying to find the perfect outfit. A suit might be doing too much but these were what seemed to capture her attention, I remember the look she casted my way at our previous meeting, hell that look plagued my damn dreams. Those brown sensual eyes and full pink lips had me in a fucking trance. Shaking my head to clear it, I settled for a forest green pants suit, crisp white shirt and black leather shoes. My jewelry was always minimal since I wore a watch and the necklace my brother had given me for my last birthday party. After getting dressed, I went back to the room to find Micheal sitting on the foot of my bed, he turned and looked at me quizzically before tentatively speaking
"I need you to remember that Alexandra isn't wooing Miss. Shigamoto, Alexander is"
I stared at him for what seemed like a long second
"I don't know what you mean" I said embarrassment ceasing my features
" I think you have forgotten that we grew up together, I'm very much aware of your behaviors especially when you are in love with someone"
I blanched as I remembered the girl I fell in love with in middle school. I think I blocked her face from my memory after finding her kissing another girl.
Shaking my head I plastered on my most relaxed expression and asked "shall we head out, we don't want to keep death waiting, now do we"
I began calling Amira death partly because of her profession but also because I personally witnessed what those hands were capable of. After we left the meeting 2 days ago I had Michael look into the mysterious man she killed only to find that he was a mole trying to get information, although it's still inconclusive as to who he was reporting . I couldn't shake the feeling that the more I learned about Amira, the deeper I was drawn into her lethal allure.
