"You realise that by this time next year, our children will be engaged to each other, right?" My dad finally brought up the topic after both mine and Jungkook's family were seated at the table for dinner on Christmas Eve.
Levi, yet again escaped this horrendous event by staying at the Nyxs' house.
He should just be considered their family member at this point.
Jungkook was sitting beside me. Yet again, not uttering a word ever since he was here. Playing with his food, he just hung his head over his plate, staring down at the food.
When is he gonna bring up the topic?
"And the very next year to that, they would be married." Jungkook's father continued. My mother sneered with contentment.
"They would actually make a quite beautiful couple, won't they?" Jungkook's mother stared at us with compassion in her eyes. "I can't wait to see the beautiful grandchildr-" Jungkook's mother's sentence had to be cut midway as Jungkook suddenly leapt to his feet.
Oh, it's finally happening. This is fun.
"I am breaking off this marriage." He declared. Such a dramatic asshole. Our parents watched him, shocked and quizzed at his sudden outburst.
I reclined on my chair, comfortably, being delighted by this drama.
"He thinks it's up to him to decide." My mother sniggered, taking a bite of her food with the fork, in a sophisticated manner. Our parents cracked up in a mocking way.
Oh they have no idea what's incoming.
"I love someone else." Jungkook announced, indifferent. "Who cares?" My mother snapped, shooting glares at Jungkook. He scowled at her in return. I raised my hand, casually. "I do. I'm not marrying a man who loves someone else." My tone was too casual for such a dramatic situation.
"Breakup with her." My mother ordered as all the laughter came to a halt and the situation grew a little tensed. Shrugging, I lowered my hand.
"It's not a girl." Jungkook stated.
"What do you mean?" Jungkook's father leaned in. They're finally realising the intensity of the setting. "Yes, Jungkook, what do you mean, it's not a girl?" I smirked as I crossed my legs, enjoying this.
Jungkook turned to me for a split second before turning back to our parents. "It's a guy. Kim Taehyung, half-blood Gryffindor. Same year as me." Jungkook reported.
"Gryffindor?!"
"HALF-BLOOD?!"
As anticipated, his parents aren't even slightly concerned that it's a guy anymore. They are much disturbed by the fact that it's a half-blood Gryffindor.
"Oh my God!" I gasped, impassively.
"We don't care. If it's a girl, a guy or an animal or even a rock you're in love with. Breakup with him. It's not a suggestion. It's an order." My mother still wasn't swayed.
"I cannot get married to anyone else." Jungkook avowed.
Though our parents were confused at first, they suddenly were looking all dreadful. You have no idea the happiness I'm feeling right now. "What did you do, Jungkook?" Jungkook's father's face had turned pale. Lmao.
"I want to inform y'all that. I have vowed to marry Taehyung and I am certain about it." Jungkook said. "Break your little pinky promise or something an- wait. Vowed?" My mother finally let go off her fork and focused on the conversation.
"Why yes, Mrs. Avery. I have made an Unbreakable Vow with Taehyung and I am quite certain that everyone present here is acquainted with The Unbreakable Vow." Jungkook replied.
"ARE YOU NUTS?!" Jungkook's father furiously rapped his palms on the table, rising up.
"You were forcing me to marry someone I didn't even like! You left me no choice!" Jungkook protested.
"Jungkook, was Y/n involved in all this?" My father gulped down his saliva, probably having dreadful thoughts of what my mother would do if she knew I actually was behind all this.
I couldn't supress a singer.
However, no one paid no attention to me. "She was not." Jungkook stated. Lmao, defending me?
"Well then, Mr and Mrs Jeon, this is quite an insult on my family. You know, breaking off the marriage in such a loutish way. You should've kept your son under your control." My mother started attacking the Jeons instead after she was convinced that I wasn't involved in this whole plan.
Fools.
"Trust us, we had no idea about this!" Jungkook's mother defended themselves. She had stood up now as well.
"It's your son. What do you even mean you had no idea??" My father scoffed as he stood up as well. "Why would we lie to you, we really wanted Y/n to be out daughter-in-law." Mr. Jeon pleaded.
"You think we're stupid?" Finally mother rose up from her seat as well.
And slowly and steadily this little disagreement ended up becoming a heated argument between our families. Our parents were quarreling over the table while I watched the show as it was much better than any other source of entertainment.
Until finally, the Jeons decided to walk away from the battlefield, humiliated.
They stomped out of the house, pissed. I noticed my parents were engaged in their own talk over this whole incident. I took the advantage of it and tailed the Jeons. As expected, my parents didn't notice it.
"Y/n!" Jungkook called out as soon as he spotted me, heeling out of the door.
We stood, facing each other, just in front of our doorstep. "Thank you!" For the first time since I saw him at my house last summer, Jungkook was happy. He was beaming..
"I'm not here for your stupid thank you!" I rolled my eyes.
"I know. I still just wanted to say it..." Jungkook fished around his pocket until he finally pulled out the precious time-turner.
"Just don't use it to do something illegal. I don't want to be meddled in any ministry matters." Jungkook warned me. "Oh shut it." I snapped. Though, it didn't twitch Jungkook's smile even the slightest.
"Here you go!" He handed over the exquisite necklace.
I snatched it at once and started admiring this little necklace that provided me with the power to control time. I couldn't help but sneer slyly at it.
I almost forgot about Jungkook's presence.
I put away the time-turner into the pocket of my robes and turned to him with a frown. "So, what's happening to you?"
"What's happening to me? Oh yeah, as you can see they've left without me." He paid a quick glance over his shoulder towards the direction his parents disappeared to. "They might be mad at me for a few days and at last have no choice but to accept the situation or in the worst case scenario, they might disown me."
"You seem too thrilled to be disowned." I raised a brow.
"I'm getting married to Taehyung, Y/n, ofcourse I'm thrilled!" His smile grew even wider, flashing his bunny teeth. He looks like a fool. Is this what happens when one falls into this black hole called 'love'?
"Y/N!!" I heard my mother yell my name from inside the house. She must've realised my absence. Wow, that was quicker than I expected it to be.
"I should go..." Jungkook said. "Don't let me see your face ever again." I spat.
Jungkook smiled one last time before running away towards the gate of our house. "Use it wisely Y/n, don't let it false into wrong hands!" He waved at my direction, over his shoulder before sprinting off.
I smirked.
I am the wrong hands, Jungkook.
