Becoming king

George was nervous. The day had come when he would become king. It was the last day he could be Prince George.

And he was even more nervous when he realized he had dragged Nick and Karl to Kristin's house.

"Why have you never told us about him?" Karl asked a bit offended. They were sitting in front of Kristin's house, and George was telling them what he had been doing every Christmas for the past seven years.

"So, you've never met at any other time than Christmas? You've known each other for seven days, and you're already dating?!" Karl couldn't understand that no one knew about Dream, he had seen him for his whole life, not even a full seven days, and they were already dating? Plus, Karl had never seen or heard of him before? He was starting to doubt if they were really best friends.

"And is there going to be a wedding?" Nick had only one thing on his mind. George and a wedding with his friend. If they were able to go through all this and see each other once a year and still love each other, this was clear proof of love.

"Definitely, but only once I get him out of the exile title." George smiled. He couldn't stop thinking about him. That guy had definitely enchanted him. He was the best guy he had ever met.

"When you kiss him first after the coronation, or when you sit on the throne. Whoever you kiss first that night, you have to marry. Or at least that's how I took Nick." Karl said, leaning towards his husband.

"But we don't have such a rule here." George said sadly. There was no chance for him to marry his dream guy. Why didn't love favor him?

There was silence for a while until someone hugged George from behind. Dream had arrived. Finally.

"No one told me we have guests." He laughed and let go of his most beloved. "Hello, I'm Dream!" He introduced himself with a smile and waved.

"I'm Nick!" Nick said in exactly the same excited tone and waved.

"I'm Karl, but that's beside the point. Tell me everything you know about George, his favorite things, how much you love him, and just everything!" Karl said seriously and started bombarding Dream with questions about everything Dream should fulfill to be George's friend and future king.

"I..." Dream was interrupted after Karl's long monologue of questions by Nick.

"Okay... he just wants you to swear that you won't hurt George and that you're not just using him." Nick shortened it, and Dream breathed a sigh of relief. He expected to answer questions for the whole time they would be meeting.

"Good.... He just wants to tell you to promise him that you won't hurt him and that you're not just using him." Nick said, rolling his eyes.

"Okay. But I'm really relieved. You wouldn't believe how." Dream looked like a stone had fallen from his heart. This ensured him a future with George if they really ever get married.

"Do you plan to go to the coronation?" Karl asked and smiled when Dream and George snuggled closer to each other. They were sitting on the ground, and the two couples were hugging each other lovingly.

"Definitely. I have to see how my George becomes a king." George blushed, and Dream continued to give him a kiss on the cheek.

"I have a plan to get you there. With this, I promise you that we will get you to the coronation and ensure your wedding." Nick laughed, and both Dream and George widened their eyes.

"Is it happening?! Are we getting married? Are you sure?" George asked excitedly, and Dream couldn't answer.

"I... damn, I want this! Nothing will make me happier! Please!" Dream said excitedly, and George laughed at the sight of Dream's childish and cute face.

There was silence for a while as they looked at George, and Dream was excited like a child at Christmas. He was so excited, probably much more than any child ever was.

"And how do you plan to do it?" George asked as he and Dream continued their eye contact.

"Yesterday, I made a whole plan for it. You just have to listen to me. We'll do it like this...."

And then they started explaining. It was a bit more complicated, but they could handle it.

"Why do I feel like you've had this planned for a long time?" Dream asked, and Karl suspiciously eyed Nick.

"Well... kind of, when I was marrying Karl. This got us a wedding." He laughed, and Dream laughed too.

"I don't even know how to thank you."

"Adequate thanks is just that you're here and didn't leave George alone." Karl said.

"But this is so sappy. I don't like how much my world is filled with romance and duality." George said a bit dissatisfied. "But I'm not complaining."

"Better not." Dream said with relief.

And then they delved into friendly chatter.
