"I HOPE I'M NOT BEING A BOTHER," Anne said. She gave an awkward smile to Simmons, perching upon a stool in the corner of the lab.

Simmons titled her head, shaking it slightly. "Of course not!" She offered Anne a soft, comforting smile. "Although, it is quite impressive that we haven't even been here a full day, and you've already broken your nose."

Despite the pain, Anne felt a smile begin to spread across her lips as a small chuckle escaped them. Fitz and Simmons had just returned from examining the site of the explosion, and before Anne had come traipsing into their lab searching for something to sort her nose out with — seeing as apparently the freezer in the kitchen hadn't actually been up and running for long enough to have frozen a single pea in the bag she would usually use to treat a broken nose — had been studying the things they'd found. They'd been saying words Anne wasn't entirely sure were even real, and using equipment that honestly, Anne was a little intimidated by, so she'd tried to sneak in as quietly as possible. She hadn't wanted them to see her — over her years in the field, she'd injured herself enough times to know how to set a broken bone or ease a little swelling.

Of course, it wasn't exactly easy to sneak into a relatively small lab that only had two other people in it — especially when she hadn't expected those people to be in it at all. She'd thought they were still out examining a literal bomb site. She'd strolled right through the doors, thinking she could just quickly nip in and take what she needed, only to find two scientists staring at her bloodied nose with mouths agape.

"Oh," Anne had said. "Sorry. I thought you were still out, else I would have knocked."

With hurried words about how it was really no problem, and oh my goodness is your nose broken, honestly Agent Harper how did you manage to do that when you were only off the Bus for half an hour at most, Simmons had run to fetch her something to help ease the swelling, while Fitz had cleared a seat in the corner of the lab for Anne to sit upon.

Which had brought them to now — the scientists trying to analyse the materials they had gathered from the site of the explosion, and Anne holding holding a tissue to her nose to try and capture the blood dribbling from it. In spite of Simmons' protests otherwise, she couldn't help but feel as though she was completely in the way in this lab, even if she was just perched upon a stool as far away from everything as she could possibly get. The two scientists were busy, after all, and Anne didn't want to distract them from their jobs.
