Who Will It Be

The red string of fate is something every single person in assistance has. The red string will lead to your soulmate, the person you are destined to be with forever. For most people, it makes life easy but for Kendra Levin, not so much.

Kendra Levin stared down at the red string, wrapped tightly around her finger. Kendra trailed her eyes down the string and stopped where it split into three. Kendra then trailed her eyes up to the two fighting boys, Ben and Glen Tennyson. Ben and Glen are cousins and both had a red strain that attached to Kendra.

Kendra had met Ben and Glen back when they were kids, back when she was still a Phyco street rat. Kendra wasn't gonna dwell much on that and stood up from her spot at one of Mr. Smoothie's tables and approached Ben and Glen. The cousins had a bad relationship as kids, then it became okay, and now it is bad again.

"Are you two done?" Kendra asked stepping between the two boys. "Why won't you just pick me already!?' Glen fumed his eyes glowing pink with annoyance. Ben began to fume as well, "No way, I'm way better for her, plus I wasn't a total jerk when we first met her." he snapped. "You two are still bickering like children over her?" all eyes turned to the albino approaching them. Albedo, a Galven who took on Ben's form to take the Omnitrix.

Albedo was connected to the third red string Kendra has. "What are you doing here Albedo?" Ben and Glen hissed, clearly not happy to see Albedo. The albino rolled his eyes and walked past the trio, "I'm just here to get a smoothie." he said waving his hand dismissively. Ben and Glen glared at the back of Albedo's head for a moment before going back to bickering over who was better for Kendra.

Kendra sighed in annoyance and went back to sit at the picnic table. "I wish they would stop," she muttered and drank her strawberry and peach smoothie while playing a game on her phone. So yeah, the red string did not make Kendra's life easy.

The next day Kendra was in the garage of her and her mother's house working on her car. "Knock Knock" Kendra sighed and slid out from under her car, "Hey, Glen," she said and wiped the dirt and grease off her hands. The redhead smiled and approached Kendra and handed her a brochure. "My school is having a dance, care to be my date?" Glen gave Kendra an expecting smile. Kendra sighed "Glen, I need you to stop pressuring me." she said and began working under the hood.

Glen frowned and stood beside Kendra. "C'mon, you know you like me, I'm perfect," Glen said while snaking his arm around Kendra's waist. "She said stop pressuring her!" Ben appeared on the other side of Kendra and swatted his cousin's hand with a wrench. "Thanks, Ben." Kendra smiled, Ben smiled back and held up a bouquet of Lobelia flowers. "Oh, thanks Ben," Kendra said as her eyes sparkled and the sight of her favorite flowers. "You know I like to surprise you." and that was as true as true gets. Ben tends to surprise Kendra with small gifts, flowers, food, new tools, and sometimes clothes, and he doesn't do it an annoying amount of the time.

"What have I told you two!?" Ben and Glen were both sprayed in the face with water. Kendra's mom ran beside her daughter, water hose in hand, and sprayed the boys until they ran out of the garage and out of water's reach. Kendra chuckled and her mother shot a warning glare at the two boys. "Sorry, Mrs. Levin." Ben apologized. "I do need her for a mission though," he said and Kendra handed her mother the flowers before getting in her car.

Only after putting towns down did Kendra let Ben and Glen in her car. "So, where are we headed, Ben?" Kendra asked and Ben pulled up a map on his Plumber badge. "Some strange stuff has been happening in this general area, could be DNAlien-related, could be other alien-related, but we need to check it out." Kendra nodded and began driving.

The ride was silent for a few minutes, but then Glen decided to open his mouth. "Bet those flowers were fake." Ben looked offended dumped into the backseat and began fighting with Glen.

Kendra stormed through the halls of the building where some of the alien activity had been happening. Ben and Glen followed behind Kendra, both with massive knots on their heads. "Can I apologize again?" "Ben you can apologize for the rest of your LIFE if you want but it will NOT change the fact you two busted my back windshield while fighting like children." Kendra snapped and absorbed the material of the floor and kicked down the door in front of her.

Kendra walked into the room and stared at all the aliens sitting at tables around the room. Ben and Glen peeked out from around Kendra, equally confused. "Umm?" "I've been in one of these before it's an illegal weapon auction." Ben and Glen nodded.

All the aliens quickly scattered and the trio got to work. Ben transformed into Swapfire and Glen used his mana and some spells. Kendra formed her hands into sharp blades and began cutting aliens down left and right. Kendra cornered one of the aliens, "Alright buddy, who's ranging all this?" she asked pointing her sharpened hand at the scared alien. "Back off!!' Kendra was suddenly rammed by a big alien and sent flying across the room and through the wall.

"Kendra!!" Glen came and knelt beside Kendra and helped her sit up. "Hell..." Kendra muttered and Glen picked her up holding her close to his chest. "Glen, I'm fine." Kendra pushed away from Glen and put her feet on the ground. "C'mon, Ben needs our help," Kendra said and ran to help Ben. Glen frowned and his eyes glowed with anger and frustration but he followed anyway.

Other Plumbers who had been working this case were loading up the aliens that had been taken down. Kendra stood beside Ben and was getting some information from Max. Ben and Glen listened up until Glen started another fight. Kendra groaned and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Kendra, go ahead and get outta here," Max said and Kendra was gone in a heartbeat, not wanting to deal with Ben and Glen's fighting.
