i've had a stressful day today. nothing went right at work, my car broke down, and cole isn't home yet so i have nobody to vent to until this evening when he comes home from a roadie.

just as i'm about to get an uber home, one of the girls comes over to me and says "someone is here for you. out front" she tells me, gesturing to the door. i have no idea who it could be but i thank her and go to see who it is.

i walk out the door and immediately see a vehicle that looks exactly like coles, but i can't see the plates the way it's parked. i look around and don't see anybody. i turn to go back inside when i hear my name. "noël! noël!" i turn around and see none other than cole caufield running over to me. "cole!" i exclaim.

he comes over to me and hands me a beautiful bouquet of flowers that i assume he just bought from the florist next door. "oh merci cole, these are absolutely beautiful" i tell him truthfully. "of course my love," he smiles at me "now let's go to dinner" he opens my door for me and then runs over to the drivers side.

"so, where are we going for dinner?" i ask "olive garden" he tells me "i hope that's okay" "cole that's great! anywhere would be amazing, i wasn't even expecting to see you until late tonight" i tell him honestly. he smiles and reaches over to hold my hand.

after dinner we get back in the car and i think cole can tell something is a bit off. "noël, love, what's wrong?" he asks me. "what do you mean?" "i mean i can tell something is bothering you and i want to help" "im fine, today was just stressful" i tell him, not wanting him to worry about me. i can tell he doesn't believe me, but he leaves it and takes us home.

cole and i are laying on the couch together in our comfy clothes watching the hunger games. i get up to grab a drink and i get a text. i don't think much of it when i see cole pick up my phone to see what it is. "honey, why is alyssa from work asking how you're doing now? and about your car?" he questions me "um, well, my car broke down on the way to work, so i was late, and nothing seemed to go right at work today" i tell him sitting back down. the look on his face tells me i should have texted him and told him these things. "cole, i didn't text you because i wasn't sure where you were or if you would be able to respond" i tell him "noël, i'm not mad you didn't tell me. and if you texted me i would respond as soon as i could" he tells me "i know, i just-" "no. stop right there. you wouldn't be annoying or an inconvenience, noël. if i thought that then why would i be with you?" he questions me. i don't have an answer so i shrug my shoulders and sink into the couch further to avoid his questions about work.

"honey, i'm not going to force you to tell me about your day. if you want to tell me that's totally up to you" cole lays back down and pats his chest, telling me he wants me to lay with him. i rest my head on his chest while he plays with my hair and we watch the movie.

"thank you" i whisper out "for what?" cole asks "for the flowers, and dinner, and being amazing" i tell him "of course, hun. i always want to be there for you, no matter what" my heart flutters when he says that and it puts me at ease.

cole and i fall asleep on the couch, cuddled together, not waking until the sun leaks through the windows the next morning.
