Chapter 27: Shadows Of Redemption

The next day, Sosuke wakes up knowing he has a lot of explaining to do. What happened yesterday was just crazy. He had his first conversation in years with his father, and he didn't even know what to say to him. Was he scared? Maybe. But his goal is to confront him as a man, and he knows that he is not there yet. He is even more upset by the conversation that Endeavor had with All Might. Endeavor having doubts about whether it was a good idea to bring him to UA. Sosuke knows that he has a lot of proving to do, but he is also thinking about his little sister, Miya. He wants to make her proud because he loves her.

Sosuke gets out of bed, goes to the dining room for breakfast, and avoids making eye contact with anyone. He eats alone, but Midoriya comes over and says hello. Sosuke doesn't want to talk to him, in fact, he doesn't want to talk to anybody, but Midoriya is persistent in starting a conversation.

Midoriya: Sosuke... how are you feeling after everything that happened yesterday?

Sosuke: ...

Midoriya: You can talk about it, you know. We are friends, so...

Sosuke: FRIENDS??? Look, Midoriya, I don't know what you want from me, so don't act like you want to have a conversation with me. You don't have to do that! You don't know how it feels to be left out of everything that you do, to be different than the rest because, yes, I am different. I AM THE SON OF THE BIGGEST CRIMINAL EVER LIVED, RIGHT? LIKE BAKUGO SAID: I AM A VILLAIN! So, please leave me alone and enjoy the rest of the day without my presence bothering you all.

Sosuke screams this and leaves The Alliance 1-A.

Midoriya: Sosuke...

Shoto: Hmmm...

Bakugo: So the villain finally reveals himself, huh?

Toru: Just leave it be, Bakugo.

Bakugo: SHUT UP, YOU INVISIBLE BEING!!

Kirishima: Bakugo, chill out, will you?

Jiro: Do I need to talk to him? I don't know, maybe it can...

Shoto: No, he is in a phase where he not only can't trust us but he can't trust himself. Leave him be; he will come around.

Tenya: Shoto is right. Let's see what he does.

Sosuke goes far away from The Alliance 1-A in the morning and wanders around town. He sees the destroyed places, the injured people, and the hospital cares still around this time from everything that happened yesterday. When Sosuke sees that, he immediately thinks about what his father said to him. He said that everything that is happening right now is his fault, and he should just join him in his evil antics. Sosuke scratches his head and doesn't know what to do.

Meanwhile, in class, Aizawa-sensei is calling names and notices that Sosuke is absent. He asks the class where he might be or if he's still sick from yesterday. Ochaco says that he left The Alliance 1-A in the morning and never came back.

Aizawa-sensei: Well, he won't hear the news, but since he has his Provisional Hero License, he can participate in the New Sports Festival. <<This is bad; I might need to inform Endeavor of this.>>

Fumikage: News for the New Sports Festival? Is this not going to be like last time?

Bakugo: It doesn't matter what is new and what isn't new. I AM GOING TO CRUSH YOU ALL!

Aizawa-sensei: Bakugo, can you please sit down? Well, good question, Fumikage. No, it won't be like last time. This time, since we want to shorten the Sports Festival, Classes 1-A and 1-B will go head-to-head in a race with obstacles and possible hero fights. In this race, we will only keep the first 16 students.
