"jungkook, i think i put in too much salt-" i said a little concerned.

"haha, let me see," jungkook was making frosting.

"oh!" he was a little surprised, "you know, just mix it around, may not be too bad," he said.

"okay." i started mixing.

it was a cold january weekend and we decided to make chocolate chip cookies at my house. my family was doing something else so it was just us.

"frosting looks good," i said.

"thanks! i love making frosting." i said, putting the bowl with red frosting aside.

"okay, let's put them in the oven. it says 12-15 minutes." i said, reading from my phone.

"let's go with 13:30 because it's in the middle!" jungkook said.

"perfect idea." i said.

he put the cookies into the oven and we both sat on the couch waiting. as i walked to the couch, he grabbed me and we both fell onto the couch.

"gotcha." he smirked. i smiled at him.

we watched a bit of some weird movie that was playing on hallmark. it was some christmas love story, like the usual city-girl-former-small-town-girl-goes-back-to-her-hometown-and-meets-the-love-of-her-life-and-they-spend-christmas-together type of thing.

"i think the cookies are almost done, let's go see them!" jungkook turned off the tv bc the movie was so bad. 

it isn't even christmas, it's the middle of january? weird.

bing!

jungkook opened the oven. the cookies smelt so good.

"let's let them cool down for about 5 minutes then we can frost?" he suggested.

"sure!" we went back to the couch. 

we made red, blue, and green frosting. there was also pink frosting in the back of the pantry which isn't expired so we're using that. hopefully it's not bad. jungkook also picked up rainbow star sprinkles so that's fun!

—5 minutes later—

"this white frosting is done for as heckkkkk!" jungkook exasperated as stale pink frosting came out of the bottle.

"check the expiry date again!!" i said, scrambling to find it.

jungkook found it and scanned the date.

"it says 03/01/24!!!! march 1st 2024!!!" jungkook said.

"wait... do you think it goes by day month year instead of month day year??" i said.

"you're right. oh my gosh." he was disappointed. i guess he really likes pink icing.

"well, we'll make do of what we made," i said, putting blue dots on one of the cookies.

we finished shortly after with a bit of leftovers.

"are you making more any time soon?" i joked.

"might have too!" jungkook bit into a cookie.

"these are good, i don't think you put too much salt!" he said with chocolate on his cheek.

"you got something there," i wiped it off for him.

"thank you." he smiled.

we had a great time making cookies and watching whatever on tv. i'm still super thankful we're still together after all this time. i mean, it's only been 5 months, but it's been a fun 5 months.
