Chapter 23: Compromising

...

You would be amused by the scene. It really is an interesting one. Akaza is holding back from bursting out laughing, a few snorts escape though. Tanjiro is still scolding Kokushibo and Giyuu.

It's already been more then 10 minutes.

Tanjiro crosses his tiny arms and tries to look mad. Though it helps nought, it only makes him look cuter. Giyuu and Kokushibo both stay sitting on the ground. It was quiet-apart from Akaza's snickering. Finally, after a moment of silence one of them says something.

"Tanjiro-"

"No."

"Let me fi-"

"No!"
Tanjiro pouts

Well. Tried to say something. Tanjiro just kept cutting Giyuu off. He sighs, the little scene finally made Akaza burst out laughing. Kokushibo was the only one just sitting there and listening to everything. A few minutes of Tanjiro ignoring Giyuu's attempts to speak goes by. He then looks at Giyuu for a second then huffs.

"Tanjiro, we're sorry."

"Mh. Fine, I accept your apology, BUT, you have to hug it out."
Tanjiro demands

Giyuu and Kokushibo look at one another. Akaza grins as he watches this, waiting for them to do so. A moment of silence...

"No."

"Absolutely not."

"...fine."
Tanjiro sighs

Saying sorry was already far to much for them. Hugging is something they wouldn't even think of. Tanjiro understands that and just let's it go. He is still a little upset at the two fighting. Even so, he hugs Giyuu-who he hasn't seen for awhile.

"Just promise you guys won't fight anymore."

"Uh...yeah, I promise."

"So, have we compromised?"
Akaza chimes in

The three look at him then at each other. They all, for now, just shrug and agree.

"I suppose so."

"Yay! Now let's go, I wanna look around still."
Tanjiro smiles

Giyuu nods. He stands up with Tanjiro in his arms. Akaza and Kokushibo also stand but don't follow Giyuu. They go elsewhere to hide from the view of the other villagers. Tanjiro looks around with curios eyes. He looks this way and that, to see what he can spot. On the other hand, Giyuu is glancing at Tanjiro. He can't quite get over the fact that Tanjiro is a demon now.

"Tanjiro."

"Mhm?"

"How exactly did you get like that?"

"Mmm. I don't remember, I just remember waking up."
Tanjiro explains

Giyuu listens to Tanjiro as he explains. He hums in response because he's Giyuu. He don't talk. They walk for a bit, even getting some food-mainly for Giyuu. But it is now late into the night and Tanjiro needs to sleep. They find somewhere to stay the night. In the room of the inn Giyuu is trying to get Tanjiro to settle down.

Kokushibo and Akaza stand off in the corner. Tanjiro is far from wanting to go to sleep and they're watching Giyuu struggle. Giyuu is chasing Tanjiro around at this point.

"It's time for bed!"

"No! I'm not tired!"
Tanjiro exlaims

He refuses to sleep. Giyuu has almost caught up to him but he blinks and Tanjiro is gone again. The three freeze. They look confused and even glance around. Then, they hear giggling from above them.

"Tanjiro!? What are you doing on the ceiling?"

"Cause I can."

"Get down you brat."
Akaza sighs

Tanjiro shakes his head and pouts. Lord have mercy on them. For they spend the next 20 or so minutes trying to get Tanjiro down. They don't even know how he got up there.

"Get off the ceiling!"

"No"

"Tanjiro, get off."

"You're not my dad!"

"Yes I am- I am your dad. Get off-"

"I'm literally on the ceiling and you're not."

"Tanjiro-"

"I'm literally on the ceiling and you're not!"
Tanjiro argues

They argue for a while. Even Akaza tries to help. By that I mean to stands there and tells Tanjiro to get off. That's as much effort he's willing to give.

This is gonna be a longgg night...

Heyyy- So, I know I've been slacking but I'm starting to run out of ideas so like.

And yes, yes that last scene was a reference to that one tank meme. Where the guy is in the tank. I couldn't think of anything else sorry-
