Chapter 24: IM BACK

APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE AS THIS MIGHT BE BAD.

To refresh everyone's memory: The Uppermoons and Giyuu compromised when it came to babysitting Tanjiro. I left off on them trying to get Tanjiro off the ceiling and to bed.

...

After a long night the three finally get Tanjiro to bed. Giyuu himself didn't sleep–or tried not to. He still wasn't entirely sure in trusting the two Uppermoons, so he tried staying awake. He didn't stay awake that long though due to his exhausted state from his mission to find Tanjiro. The next thing he remembers is waking up.

Morning has finally arrived. Upon waking up Giyuu sees three blurry figures. He rubs the sleep from his eyes and blinks a couple times before they come into view. Kokushibo and Akaza are idly talking amongst themselves. Tanjiro sits next to Giyuu, a smile forming on his face as he sees him wake up.

"Good morning!"
Tanjiro beams

Giyuu sits up with one last rub of his eyes. The two Uppermoons who were talking have put a pause on their conversation. They are now looking at Tanjiro and Giyuu.

"He's finally awake?"

"About time, it's 10am already."
Akaza stated

Giyuu was slightly surprised that he woke up late—considering it was almost the afternoon. He hummed at the information though. Giyuu ruffled Tanjiro's hair before stretching and getting up.

"We should go."

"Well we can't, the sun is out. Remember."

"Oh yeah-"

"GUY'S WHERE'S TANJIRO?? IT'S BEEN FORE-"

"..."
Silence...

Douma had randomly appeared. The other four look at him as he stopped mid sentence. Douma stoppped when he saw Tanjiro. He sighs and smiles like nothing happened.

"Tanjiro! It's been so long."
Douma exclaims

He picks up Tanjiro, bringing him into a tight hug. Douma also completely ignores the fact that Giyuu is standing right next to him. Tanjiro giggles and hugs Douma back. Giyuu watches them but doesn't do anything rash. He let's Douma know he's watching him though–because he's glaring right at him. Douma glares back with that same condescending grin he always has.

"Where were you?"
Tanjiro inquires

The sound of his voice pulls Doumas gaze from Giyuus back to him. He chuckles and does a little spin with Tanjiro in his arms.

"I was a little busy, nothing to worry about~"

"A lot happened!"
Tanjiro giggles

Douma hums, looking up at the other two uppermoons and the one demon slayer. Akaza stares with his usual unwelcoming glare now that Douma is here. Kokushibo, on the other hand, could care less. He's just sitting watching the scene in front of him.

"I bet. Not everyday I see a demon slayer still alive with two uppermoons."

"Yup! I yelled at them because they were trying to fight."
Tanjiro announces proudly

Douma snickers and raises an eyebrow at the others. Kokushibo looks away since he was the one that was yelled at. Giyuu does the same. They are both a little embarrassed that they were yelled at by a toddler.

"I'll be going now."
Giyuu says

He gestures for Douma to give Tanjiro to him. Obviously, Douma doesn't do so because he's Douma. Instead he turns away.

"Mhmmm, no. I'm keeping him~"
Douma teases

And Giyuu took that personally.

The next moment his katana is at Doumas neck. Everything was at a standstill.

"Give. Him. Back."

"Uhh, we can take turns?"

"He's not a toy."
Giyuu stated

So Douma started running around to get away. Giyuu, understandably, started chasing him. Akaza watches in slight amusement, Kokushibo shaking his head in disapproval. Tanjiro is giggling the whole time because he thinks it's a fun game.

IM SORRY. I'll be honest, I've just been lazy and haven't had motivation to continue this. This is short and trash but I wanted to at least get something out. I'll try to be more active, I swear. (I HOPE)
