Chapter 5: Field work

Autobot base, Jasper, Nevada

Jack P.O.V.

I stood by the couch looking over at the medical section where Raph and Miko were sitting with their bots. The image of Arcee so battle damaged that she couldn't even call a ground bridge flashed in my mind and I took a deep breath to calm myself. 'Optimus and Arcee are strong on their own, hopefully that jammer con doesnt appear while they're seperated, im sure Optimus could handle him, but Arcee? Im not so confident.'
I walked over to the human sized computer next to Ratchets large ones and checked the programs Raph had left running.
"Hey Raph! One of them is done!" I called down to him but he didnt move in response. "Raph?" I called again.
"I heard you! I'll be there in a moment."
I sighed, not understanding these decoding programs is annoying, because only Raph and Ratchet seem to understand them.
"Jack, transfer the completed one to my screen." I nod and follow Ratchets instructions.
"Raphael, I will handle this, you can stay by Bumblebee." Raph nods in response as Ratchet starts doing a bit if extra coding on the completed program.
"Whats this?" I ask, looking at all the cybertronian and code stuff that I dont understand.
"Its a cipher, we are making many different ones to essentially jam the signal jammer from last time. Before you ask, yes I tried to use a standard jammer breaking cipher when it first happened and it didnt work." I nod, thinking about how this could save someones life. Suddenly the comms sparked to life, Arcees voice came over it.
"Ratchet! Theres another M.E.C.H. cybertronian here this time! This new one is focusing us while the other just flew off"
Arcees voice was rather calm considering the situation.
"Do you require backup?" Ratchet asked
"Negative, but prepare a holding cell, we're gonna try to bring this bot in" Ratchet nodded to Arcees radio call and closed it. "Jack, you're on ground bridge duty, its auto locked on their nearest safe coordinates so just press enter when they're ready"
I nodded as he ran to prepare the cell and I looked at the map with the two autobot signatures. 'Be safe 'Cee'

Oklahoma

Arcee P.O.V.

This new bit posed a significantly lesser threat than that first one. This one was much slower, more indecisive about how to attack, even his weaponry was weaker, not to mention lacking the capability to jam us; however, it certainly matched that other bots fury, no matter how many times we knocked him down he attacked us again.
I looked to Optimus for guidance as the bot stood again, he simply nodded to me, I understood and activated my arm blades, it was almost sad, the way the bot wouldn't stand down, so we were forced to beat him until he went offline, but a quick scan showed he was still functioning.
I reached for my com and opened it, only for static to fill my audio receptor. Before I could call out to Optimus I was tackled and held with a blade to my throat by M.E.C.H.s first cybertronian.

Optimus P.O.V.

I turned to Arcee to find her held with a blade her throat by that blue and black M.E.C.H. cybertronian.
"You there, prime, right?"
He spoke like a human, my optics narrowed.
"I am Optimus Prime, yes, who are you?"
The cybertronian laughed
"Oh that's right, I haven't introduced myself, have I? The names Abraxis, Abraxis Virus"
My gaze hardened, this was good information, but I did not move.
"Abraxis, what is it you want?"
"What do I want? I want all cybertronian scum to suffer and die, the way I did, but that can wait. Right now we're gonna do a trade. I give you this bot, and you let me and my comrade go"
"The way you did? You died?"
He scoffed
"You don't deserve that information, now do we have a deal or not?"
I looked at Arcee, but her gaze said it all, and I transformed my arm into a blade as she elbowed him away

Abraxis P.O.V.

I stepped away from the two as the feminine bit elbowed me away, I transformed my other arm into the cannon.
"Of course you chose the hard way, soulless war machines obviously can't negotiate."
I was slightly surprised to see their faces change, they seemed shocked at my words, clearly they were hurt to hear the truth, but as much as I wanted to fight them I knew I needed to get Grim Penance out of here.

I began charging my cannon as I struck the fembot with my blade, she blocked and I was soon struck in the side by that Optimus. "You will never beat us, Abraxis"
"Shut up!"
I fired my cannon, both jumped aside as it blew apart several trees behind them, they looked at each other, then me with something akin to fear in their soulless optics. I gritted teeth, or whatever the equivalent of that is to cybertronians.
"You'll survive today, feel lucky."
I grabbed Grim Penance and ran while dragging him, but I could hear the sounds of them transforming behind me, so I sighed and threw Grim away, turning and shooting a less charged shot, it landed on the truck, but he transformed, shrugging it off.

I thrust my blade towards him, but he knocked it to the side and pointed his rifle arm at my head, I struck it aside and gut shot him, firing my gun into his abdomen, sending him backwards and through a tree.
I felt blades bite through the servos of my legs, causing them to lock in place.
"Well that's a cheap little trick"
I swung my blade behind me, feeling it impact against another blade, then get pinned in place, I saw that Optimus guy walk away, then it wasn't long before I was dragged through a swirling portal, and on the other side was the autobot base.

Autobot base, Jasper, Nevada

Jack P.O.V.

My eyes widened in shock as I saw Optimus and Cee drag in a blue and black cybertronian, he matched their description of the one that had delt so much damage to bulkhead and bumblebee, but not just me noticed.
"You! You're the jerk that put Bulk in a bed! I'm gonna scrap you and make you into a decoration on the wall!!!"
Miko screamed at him, but the boy showed only surprise
"You... Have human allies?"
He asked, shock evident in his voice.
"Not entirely by choice, however, as autobots it's our mission to protect all living beings and their freedoms"
He looked at Miko, then Raph, then me.
"They're teens... Why are teens here?"
"You sure ask a lot of questions."
Cee snapped at him, but he kept staring at the three of us, as if he couldn't believe it at all. He didn't speak as they dragged him away and into the cell Raph had prepared.
