It was early morning at around 5:20am and Y/N was now putting on his cap and gown. His mother, Poppy, L/N was waiting downstairs with her camera ready on her phone. As Y/N made it down the staircase. A joyful squeal came from your mother. "Oh, Y/N! Smile, dear! I'm so excited for you!" She'd say in a pitched voice that showed her genuine ecstatic emotions of joy for her son, who gave his mother the smile he knew his mother would appreciate.

"I'm sure you are, mom. Let me know when your done with your pictures. I wanna get out of this gown... And back to sleep...." Y/N told his mother, though when seeing her jokingly raise a brow at her son, ready to tease him for being such a sleepy head that he was known for being, the tease never came.

"Alright, alright...." She said with a sigh, her warm smile never wavering. And neither did Y/B's as he smiled for his mother's picture taking. It was uncomfortable... Smiling is so uncomfortable... Y/N thought. The same thought he'd always think whenever he smiled. Genuine or not.

His mother was a prideful parent. She raised him at a young age, at the age of 17. Without another parent around, aside from when he was younger and his mother introduced him to his grandfather five years before he died at the old age of 87. His grandfather was a grumpy old man, but a grumpy old man with a soft spot for his loving family. Although a small family, a loving family none the less. As far as Y/N knew it was now just him and his mother. And he was okay with that. Y/N was introduced to his grandfathed at the age of five, he was ten when he died. It's been eight years now. Y/N never forgot his grandfather, but he was past his grief and learned past it sooner than his mother did. It took him only a month before realizing death was just that. Death. It didn't bother him as much as he originally thought it had. His grief sometimes felt like an illusion mirrored from those closest to hum. Yes it was sad that he wouldn't ever have proper conversation with him anymode, but the happy memories would always live on. His mother however had taken a few years. She still grieves at times, Y/N has caught the sound of his mother crying when she was alone a few times at night in her room. His grandfather, Jack, L/N was a good man.

Poppy put away her phone into her back pocket. "Alright, that's all. Go ahead and hang up your cap and gown for later. Graduation ceremony is at 2:20pm." His mother reminded him.

"Alright, I'm going back to bed... I'll set an alarm for 10:30am, okay, mom?" He assured her as he turned around on the steps of the staircase and began heading back down the hallway to the left and straight to the door at the end of the hallway where his room is.

Opening the door and beginning to remove the gown and cap and putting them back hanging in the closet. Switching his phone on and setting an alarm for 10:30am. Then plugging it into the nightstand. Kicking off his shoes and socks. And taking off his shirt and jeans, curling up into his bed underneath the comforter. Almost instantly, he falls asleep.

(Don't worry, our beloved monsters will have an appearance soon. ☺)
