Chapter 8: falling from the sky (short chapter)

We were in a plane that was thirty thousand feet above the ground as the captain said "oh lord god we give thanks for the opportunities that you have given us going together as comrades to defend our great nation. We thank you for the time and the service that you have given us together now as we are about to leave for another mission. Let us have the strength to learn from those who have come before" his voice blurred out as I unfolded a picture of me, my wife, and sam. I was wondering...'where are you?' and then an alarm blared as I put on a mask, the back of the plane opened as we all got up at once and into a line, preparing for the time of our lives. As we prepared, we put on special goggles then three slow beeps played. On the final one. We jumped......the flares on our legs activated as we all jumped off the plane, we flew through clouds, 'one layer done..2 more to go' I thought as we flew through the second layer of clouds, and then the final layer approached, once we got through I was horrified at what awaited me. The city was on fire it looked lifeless...I soon saw Godzilla fighting a Muto, it soon flew away from Godzilla. Godzilla roared at it furiously, I then activated my parachute as I approached the ground, once I landed I quickly detached the parachute...I looked over to my left and saw Godzilla's tail, I then saw the team rondevue at Charlie, so I went there to as a man said "take position take position!" I ran up as a guy said "I saw team one move to the east. Two of our team members didn't make it, I heard bits and pieces on the radio. Then-the snipers on the rooftop are moving into position. Here we go picking up the nuke" then one guy said, "which way?" "One klick up the hill" "alright we found the warhead lets go! Up the hill this direction! Let's move" a guy said as we all headed in that direction and headed up a hill and once, we were there we saw the female Muto pushing eggs into somewhere, we then heard a crash as we all aimed our guns there, we saw a tail. But not any tail a mechanical one......we were all confused by this until we saw a silhouette of a kaiju, but this didn't look like Godzilla, only once it got closer did we see what it looked like.....it was something mechanical but it also had skin...we had our guns aimed at the kaiju but then it roared straight at the Muto , it roared as we aimed our guns at it. It rose up and when it saw the being it roared at it in anger and charged as a guy said, "let's move let's move!" After that I took one final look at the kaiju and then headed to the warhead.
