(This chapter is still in progress!)I open my eyes, expecting to be in the dining room I was in when I fainted but to my surprise I see a boy standing over me with a questioning look on his face. "Um hi? Who are you" I ask while getting up off the couch I woke up on, "right sorry, hi I'm Mateo Caddel" the name almost matches his looks perfectly, Messy chestnut brown hair with dark brown eyes.
The more I look at him the more familiar he starts to look but I've just decided to brush it off. "Ok can you tell me what is going on? One moment I'm running from a shadow figure than eating dinner and now I'm lying on a couch" "well... you were put in a simulation while we figured out what to do with you, you see, mutants have taken control of the world and there are only a couple thousand survivors around the whole world, we wanted to keep you safe, well I wanted to keep you safe" I could see him start to blush. So let me get this straight, I'm in a world where mutants are in control, just great. "Well than how come I was able to feel the pain and the weather in the simulation?" "Advanced technology allowed you to be able to feel everything we input into the simulation"
"well why did the simulation stop?"
"We have no clue, we belive that the mutants were able to override the system but we are working on it" this whole thing just keeps getting weirder and weirder. Mateo takes me over to a room filled with all kinds of weapons and training equipment. "What's all of this for?"
"This is the training center, you and the others will be using it to train when you fight against the mutants" great now I'm going to be a mutant fighter what else is going to happen. " Well I will leave you here and you can work on whatever you want to train with"After Mateo leaves I walk over to the knife section, I practice with the throwing knifes and the daggers, after that I went over to the swords. After about two hours of training I walk over to what looks like a cafeteria and sit down at a table and look around. The cafeteria is in an outside space surrounded by huge trees making a briefer or wall around the whole building, the sky is a pinkish purple like a sunset and the moon is 5x bigger than usual. As I take in the view I hear someone walk into the room. "Oh hey Mateo, what's up" "Nothing I was just looking for you, would you like to see your bedroom quarters?" He starts walking me towards the elevator and he presses a button with the number 28. Once we get to the floor we walk down a long hallway filled with rooms on each side of the wall. We get to the end of the hall and he opens the 99th door and he gives me
the key. "Well I'll let you have a look around, if you need anything my room is right next door"
I walk into my room and, wow, it's like nothing i've ever seen before. The walls are a sea salt blue, the floors a dark chestnut brown, the view is overlooking what seems to be a mountain range, the colors of the sky remind me of what the cafeteria sky looked like. I walk over to the window and I can feel the cold breeze make the glass get colder by the second. The bed is a full sized bed with fluffy white blankets covering the surface of the bed. There is also a white fluffy rug that takes up almost a quarter of the room.
I walk over to the dresser and get changed into a black silk tank top and black plaid pants. I brush out my hair and put it into a messy bun and walk over to the bed, as I sink into the bed, the blankets feel as if I'm sinking into a pile of clouds, I could stay here forever. I look over to my side and see a small wooden bookshelf and pull out the first book I see, but, when I pick it up, the inside is hollow. I pick up the rest of the books and all of them are the same.
"Who on earth uses books as decorations?, and they aren't even real books!" I blurt out under my breath. The fact that I'm making the whole book thing seem like it's the biggest problem is insane.
