There it was again.
In the very corner of the room, there was a spirit, staring at me intensely. All my life, I had kept seeing her at random times. She didn't look familiar at all, nor do I ever remember the mention of a spirit haunting the school.
I've always asked other people whether they could see her or not. For some reason, I was the only person who could. My friends would call me crazy, or they would call me special for being able to see ghosts. There was something different about her though, which makes me believe that she isn't just some ghost. Her glare, and the constant smirk on her face... I feel as if she's watching over me, like a guardian. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but maybe I'm not.

Dear reader, if you're here to read a calm, and peaceful story, then put down
this book right this instant. But, if you're here to simply know more about peace... then, continue reading. Maybe from this story, you'll be able to open your eyes to the need for peace in the world.

"Ariella Novissime, stop daydreaming right this instant!" I heard my teacher yell, as I jumped in my seat.
"Apologies. Thank you for reminding me." I said, as she continued discussing.

Whenever I see her, the spirit, I can never focus on anything else. It's like she puts me under a trance that makes me focus on her, and solely her. Today, I was actually quite shocked to see her. In a year, I would see her about 10 times. It isn't a lot, but it still is concerning. But so far this year, I haven't seen her yet. That is, until today. Is there anything special about today? The only thing is that it's been a month since school started, but there's nothing special about that.
Anyways, I'm probably yapping over nothing. I almost forgot to introduce myself.

Hello there, reader. I'm Ariella Novissime, but most people just call me Rie, or
Riel. Weird name, isn't it? I'm fifteen, and I have the greatest set of friends I could ever ask for— they have weird names as well.

The moment the bell rung, I took my bags and headed straight to the school roof. Most students come to the cafeteria during lunch break, but me and my friends prefer heading to the school roof, where there's no one to bother us. Once I reached the school roof, I saw all my friends there already, beginning  to eat.
"Rie, why are you here last? Aren't you normally here first?" Vic asked me, as I giggled slightly.
"Ms. Lai dismissed us a bit late. I promise I rushed up here as soon as class was dismissed." I put down my bags on the floor, and sat down on the floor as well while taking out my food.
"We should bring tables and chairs here. It's difficult to eat with our food on the floor..." Ovis suggested.
"Would they allow it though?" Artemis asked.
"They better. My back hurts all the time after we eat here." Quin said, as I laughed.
"Why don't we just eat at the cafeteria?" Rio said, as I shook my head.
"No way. It's so crowded there. We probably wouldn't even be able to get any tables there." I said, as Lynx agreed.
"There's also a lot of drama." Lynx added.

Vic, Ovis, Artemis, Quin, Rio, and Lynx. They're all my friends. We've seen each other in our worst times, and in our best times as well. All 7 of us are really famous around our school as well. Although, it's not for the reason you would probably expect. We're all famous because of our names. Sure, our nicknames may not seem so bad, but many people say that our full names are fit enough to be in Greek or Roman legends. Honestly, I don't know if we should take it as a compliment or not.

While laughing together with my friends and making jokes, something in the distance caught my eye; it was her again, the spirit. But this time, she wasn't just sitting or standing in the corner, she was walking straight at me. Her walks were slow, and although she was just a spirit, it was like I could hear the clinking of her heels on the ground. No, I really could hear them. Eventually, the voices of my friends faded away, and she was the only thing I could focus on. The only thing I could hear was the swishing of the wind, and the sound of her heels in every step she took. I tried to escape, but my legs were glued to the floor. I couldn't move, I  couldn't speak... This time, I don't think I'm daydreaming. I think this is really happening. I wanted to scream, I wanted to yelp for help yet I couldn't. She had me under some sort of spell... Magic exists?
