Knock knock

"Young Miss, The car is ready. Young Master Kim awaits you downstairs," the senior handmaiden passed the message and turned to resume her routine chores after receiving a smile and a soft nod from the eighteen-year-old teenager.

The first rays of the morning sun painted the sky in hues of pink and gold as Soah, dressed in elegant mourning attire, holding a bouquet of white tulip bulbs. She stepped into the sleek black car with tinted windows that awaited her right outside the extremely guarded Kim manor.

Beside Soah sat her elder brother, Kim Seokjin, a man of commanding presence and influence in both the business world and the shadows of the underground. His sharp gaze, concealed beneath designer sunglasses, surveyed the surroundings with the acumen of a hawk, he nodded at the driver to move the car.

The vehicle, which appeared like a fortress on wheels, was guarded by a formidable entourage of security personnel, each member a silent sentinel in the service of the influential Kim family. The air was charged with an unspoken tension, and the only sound that broke the morning stillness was the low hum of the engine.

The city's awakening streets seemed to part as their heavily guarded car navigated the urban labyrinth, en route far away, to the opposite side of the city, to the sacred grounds where their parents's final resting place awaited.

"Princess, You look just like our mother," he complimented her like a typical proud brother, making her eyes shine with joy at the realisation, that she resembled her mother.

Every year on her birthday, She gets to see the sunrise from outside the boundaries of her confinement. The walls of Kim Manor whispered tales of bedtime stories, shared laughter, and tears wiped away with a comforting embrace. A feeling of mixed emotions resides deep in her heart, she's happy and sad at the same time. Sad as she lost her mother years ago on the same day she was born and happy because she gets to visit her today.

Little Soah's soul always yearned for the comforting embrace of her parents, a yearning that cast shadows across the canvas of her existence. The ache of their absence was a constant companion, a silent symphony of longing that danced in the depths of her eyes.

Yet, amid this emotional upheaval, a stalwart anchor existed – her elder brother.

"Princess, you Know the rules." he interrupted, when she slid the mirror down, gliding her small hands outside, making waves that beat the flow of the wind. With a gentle smile, he lovingly advised his baby sister to keep the car windows closed, emphasizing the importance of safety during their journey. Briefly feeling upset she cutely pouts and understands. She trusts her brother's instincts and rolls the window glass upwards. For Soah, her brother Seokjin is always right.

He always stood as a sentinel, a guardian draped in the armour of familial commitment. Their shared journey was a testament to the strength of familial bonds, a resilient bridge that spanned the chasm left by the departure of their parents, leaving Seokjin with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

He played not just the role of a brother but also a surrogate parent, his world revolved around the delicate orbit of responsibility and love, for he had taken upon himself the solemn duty of raising his younger sister.

As the years wove their intricate collage, Seokjin witnessed the transformation of his sister into a vision of elegance and grace. The once-small hands that clung to his own had blossomed into hands that could weave dreams and soothe sorrows. Her laughter, once a melody of innocence, had matured into a symphony that resonated with kindness and warmth.

As the convoy approached the cemetery, a palpable shift in the atmosphere occurred. The gravestones stood like stoic sentinels, and the morning mist clung to the surroundings, lending an air of mystique to the clandestine rendezvous between the living and the departed.

Flanked by her brother, she descended from the fortified vehicle with quiet resilience. Kim Seokjin's watchful eyes scanned the horizon, every movement calculated and deliberate. The gravestone, adorned with sombre elegance, awaited their arrival like a silent oracle bearing witness to the convergence of power and mourning.

The morning breeze carried a chilling whisper as if the spirits of the underworld acknowledged the presence of the enigmatic Kim siblings. Soah's steps, though measured, carried the weight of not just grief but the legacy of a family immersed in shadows. Her brother, the powerful patriarch of the Kim empire, stood by her side, a living testament to the duality of their existence.

The sunlight hit their faces as a blessing. Seokjin caressed his sister's hair as a tear slipped through her eye. He marvelled at the beauty and kindness that radiated from his sister, Just like their mother. On the other hand, Soah leaned on his shoulder picturing her father's face in her elder brother's.

As she paid her respects to their parents, the security detail maintained a vigilant perimeter, eyes keenly scanning for any potential threat.

Unaware of the fact, that someone unknown has been watching them all along.

A mysterious figure stood in the shadows, hidden from plain sight. The ambient sound faded into the background as his piercing gaze fixated on her from a distance. His eyes seemed to hold a myriad of untold stories and secrets.

His unwavering stare bore through the crowd as if searching for something deep within her essence. Though surrounded by people, Soah felt an unsettling awareness of being watched.

"Brother, I felt like someone was watching," She couldn't shake the unsettling sensation and blurted while subtly looking around with her still teary vision Seokjin noticed uneasy expressions on her face.

He keenly observes the surroundings. Not being able to spot the threat, he instantly ensured his sister's safety by escorting her back to the car and gestured to the guards to prepare to head back immediately.

The Kim siblings, bound by blood and the clandestine threads of their family's legacy, left the sacred grounds under the watchful gaze of both the living, the departed and the unknown.
