"Hongjoong. Get the hell out"

Seonghwa sent death stares down Hongjoong's soul. Well you wouldn't blame him would you? He was disturbed through his beauty sleep.

"I got us clothes for us to try on before we attend the party! Come on!" Seonghwa groaned as he turned over in his bed sheets. "I need like another hour of sleep. Like just wait or at least buy me breakfast."

"Breakfast?? It's literally noon. Get your ass up!"

The latter couldn't bear another complaint from his best friend. "Isn't class in session though?" Seonghwa asked as he got up to get some clothes he owned already. "A random class day during break? Do you hear yourself?"

The two were lucky to be dorm mates, but also to be in their final year of school.

"Joong, I don't even want to go. Can't I just stay have some private me time? Relaxing in our bath tub, with a nice tea tray."
"You did that last time."

Seonghwa groaned as he walked over to their kitchen. "So what? I felt relaxed." "Yeah but you missed out on the fun!"

"What was his name? Han Jisung? Didn't he fall into the pool after he got into a fight?" "Best footage ever— whatever!! It's the final party of the year!"

"So what?"
"Seonghwa, its literally New Year's Eve. We should at least spend time together."

"Let's spend time together then."
"Really?"

"Yeah here. We can get some cider or champagne and order nice meals for the night."
"You're fucking stupid."

Seonghwa only shrugged. "Seonghwa today is also the day I plan on telling Mingi. I want you to at least be there with me."

Mingi is apparently the guy that Hongjoong is into, Seonghwa thought Mingi was weird but he's still a nice person. "You have my approval."
"The hell is that supposed to mean!?"
"Encouragement!"

"Seonghwa please come with me to the party!"
"Fine."

It was already 11:00 and Seonghwa was rather isolated. He kept himself occupied on a swinging chair, which was surprisingly comfy.

He watched from afar as Hongjoong only stood by Mingi. His face turning red as he sees Mingi's arm wrapped around him.

While Mingi was talking with someone else, Hongjoong looked at Seonghwa with a surprising look. "Cheers," Seonghwa says as he raises his cup.

Hongjoong only gestured Seonghwa to be more closer, who refused but decided to sit closer at an island counter.

Very awkward as across from him was a small group of friends and he was only alone. He silently watched the clock as it was only 11:30.

"I should've stayed alone tonight at home," Seonghwa says to himself as he took a sip of his drink.

"Why would you? It's New Year's Eve." He looked beside him to see another male, who looked rather attractive. A lovely soft gaze, and a deep yet sweet golden voice.

"I mean, I've spent the final hours alone. I just came to support my friend with confessing to a guy."

The other male chuckled. "And how is the progress?" Seonghwa turned to look at Hongjoong who was still red. "I would say he is gonna pull some cheesy corny shit and confess right when it's 11:59."

The male looked over, "He's with Mingi?"
"You know him?"

"Yeah, he's my best friend. I'm assuming that's Hongjoong?"

"Yeah, that's him."
"I remember him, especially how Mingi would always talk about him."

Seonghwa turned to the guy. "Literally. Every morning Hongjoong won't shut up about him. If they don't date by next day, I will riot."

"Tell me about it."

The clock was hitting to 11:58. "Guys! Only 2 more minutes!!" Someone announced as everyone cheered.

"Well, for the final minutes we have left. I still don't know your name even though our friends know each other."

The other smiled, "Park Seonghwa, what about yours?"

They both got up to the patio. "Yunho. Jeong Yunho." They turned to look at Hongjoong and Mingi, who was in a small area. Both looking at each other softly and dearingly.

"Well, I was right. You think they'll kiss when it's 12?"
"Seems like it."

And just a minute left.

"Well Park Seonghwa, I am delighted that I am ending and starting the year meeting you."

Seonghwa giggled, "Maybe we'll be friends when the year starts."

"I'm sure we will."

They both cheered their cups as the fireworks blasted all through the sky.

Perhaps they didn't realize that they would be more closer than expected.
