strangers

funny how we went from lovers to strangers

from going from inside jokes to abandoning it all

instead of saying we fell in love I watched my love for you fall

fall into the depths of despair

fall into something of non repair

i never expected us to fall in love

and I never expected us to fall out of it, either

however in the grand scheme of it all

your teeth made you look like you were a beaver

my gut always told me you were a cheater

unfortunately my heart was too blind to see

but now instead of us being meant to be

we instead were meant to leave

to go from lovers to strangers
