An egg hatched on an unsuspecting day from an unsuspecting mother and gave birth to an unsuspecting child. The child was a black crow similar to it's mother. It was raised and learned to fly quickly and started hunting for its own grubs and bugs. It knew all the greatest spots to find them and never went a day hungry.

The bird would stalk its prey, learn its weaknesses, and then attack. It waited for a beetle to be flipped on its back. When it got older it started killing other birds of different ilks and eating their young.

The life of this creature was brutal and easy. It always laid at the top of a pile of bones with plenty of food. But all changed one day when the bird was tired of eating meat and wanted to look for grains to satisfy its craving. It found a perfectly large helping of grains and oats laid on a wire platter.

Without knowing the bird had spung the teeth of a trap he would say in for the rest of his life. The wire closed in around him and left no room to escape. As he struggled a man in a black cloak came over and grabbed the weak predator. The man looked the bird in the eye, perhaps sizing it up. He wore a breastate with a symbol of infinity with a cross with 2 perpendicular lines coming from it, the red inside of his cloak emphasized the man's ugly face.

The man took the bird to a dark building, tied it up, and laid it on a circle with 5 points coming from it and pedestals on each point they contained a rainbow coloured scale, a pastry crumb, a lit candle thst didn't seem to go down, a thorny flower, and a scrap of brown hair.

Many others that looked similar to the man gathered around him, the  man that dragged him here began to chant, "With the god's light and borrowed might from the spirits of departed, with sacred right and our own plight we bring life into thee to join our fight! We dub thee, Apollyon," as the chant concluded the bird could feel the very fibre of it's being changing, every bone began to break and stretch, every muscle began to expand and contort, every organ in its body began working twice as hard at over triple the size. The bird began to stand to match the height of its captors as it's brain also reached a higher point.

He tried to caw out for help from its brethren but instead spoke it's first words of, "Why!"

It began screaming more and more as the pain began to hurt him less and less.

His tormenter stepped forward and said to him "welcome to sentience, my child."

The bird accepted his fate and accepted his place among the cultist of the true ones

At age 6 he studied many texts and partaken in many rituals, almost none as successful as his coronation.

At age 6 he took his first life, it was far from self defense. Blood must have been shed by him or someone else would've done it.

At age 8 he was given his first cloak and breastplate, the red went well with his black feathers.

At age 12 he opened his first portal to the realm outside our own and another back into it allowing him to traverse freely.

At age 14 he continued to ascend and ascend among his peers until his name was known by many.

At age 18 he began to host his own rituals and prayers, he here he learned about every person below and above him and everything about him

At age 20 he practiced his skills with throwing knives and casting spells on command.

At age 24 he demanded more, he demanded that the worship of gods was below him and that he should be a god himself.

At age 26 he gathered every member of the religion and killed them one by one, using their own weaknesses they trusted with him against them. He drank their blood to gain their strength but even then it wasn't enough to ascend to godhood.
