My beloved Sadira,

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀[...] You accused me of being a monster and making decisions based on pure greed for power; you said I never took your needs into consideration. My dear, I did all of this for you.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀Every soul and life I took was for our own good. Any pain I inflicted on others was only to keep it away from us. I did everything I could to create a future for us.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀I am not a murderer or the monster you think I am. I only wanted to protect us. My only goal was to preserve our love for all eternity; to prevent death from separating us. I wanted to make our love immortal. Even though it broke your pure heart, the lies and acts were all necessary steps to get closer to our goal.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀I read your diary, in the hope of finally understanding what you had hidden from me for so long. Each line broke my heart more, and although your secrets are now revealed, I mourn the truth.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀You kept writing that it was all just a cruel nightmare. One day you would escape the labyrinth and wake up; finally back to the point where you made the first decision that led you to me. You wrote that you would make a different choice now.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀But this was your life, not a fiction your mind had created to torment you. This was reality, not one of your many nightmares, my love. I made sure that no more torment haunted you at night, didn't I?

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀You wrote that it was all an illusion. My love was never sincere and my words were only meant to deceive you. That was never true. Oh, I did everything for you, don't blame me now for your own blindness.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀I never intended to mislead you, but you thought of a false future. A future where we were separated. But I won't let death take you from me forever.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀I will find a way to get you back.

In eternal love, your husband
faithful even in death, Tom ⠀⠀⠀
