"Did I remember my toothpaste?", I think to myself as I board my plane to the United Kingdom. Well, Liverpool exactly.

I'm Maya and I'm 19. My older brother Joe (He's 23) plays for the soccer (football) team Liverpool FC and I'm flying out to see one of his games. I don't watch football much, but I'm proud of my big brother for all of his success.

This is going to be a long flight.

~12 HOURS LATER~

I'm awoken by a large amount of turbulence and I assume that means that we are landing soon. The flight wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was kind of relaxing, actually. I get off the plane and search Heathrow for my brother. I see him waiting at the bottom of the escalator and run over to him. I gave him a huuuuge hug. I haven't seen him in a year since he's been overseas.

"How was your flight?", Joe said.

"It was pretty good! How was your drive here?", I ask, seeing as how he drove 3 hours to pick me up here.

"Kind of boring, but now, I'll have company on the way back home!"

"I get the AUX cord, though!", I teased.

"Ugh fine. Let's go get your bags."

I grabbed all my stuff and Joe lead me to his car in the parking lot of the airport. Apparently, people in the UK call them car parks. On the way to Joe's apartment, (British people call it a flat, ugh I'm going to have to get used to their slang if I'm going to be here for a bit.) he told me about how he's doing. His life is completely different here. At home, he used to be home a lot because he didn't play football professionally. Now that he's here in the UK, he's not home that often because of practice. He managed to get out of practice today to pick me up, but tomorrow, he has to return because they have a game in a few days. My brother is the goalkeeper so he's really important. He shares a flat with another teammate. I think his name was Allen Llama or something like that. I don't remember okay I'm really jet lagged.

When we got to the flat, I was amazed! It was in a huge building in the middle of Liverpool. Only the best for footballers aye haha. When we got in the elevator, I paid attention to what floor he lived on because he's not going to be here in the daytime. Neither is the other guy.

"Joe, what's your roommate's name again?"

"Adam Lallana." Definitely not llama hahaha. If I can remember Adam, I'll be okay.

"I forgot.", I say.

"Typical Maya. I've missed you sis.", Joe confessed.

"I missed you too, Joe Joe."

"I didn't miss that nickname, though."As the elevator opened, Joe walked out and lead me to the flat. He opened the door.

"You live here!? Maybe I should stay here forever!" Joe just laughed and took my bags into a room. He came out of the room and gave me a tour of the flat. Everything was so amazing.

After showing me the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms not in the bedroom hallway, Joe led me to the bedroom area. There were 4 doors in the hallway. 2 on the left side and 2 on the right side. The first door on the left was Joe's bedroom. The second door on the left was Adam's. They both had en suites in their rooms. Lucky them haha. The first door on the right is a bathroom. The second door is where I'll be staying (picture included.)

It was beautiful. It had an amazing view. You could see all of Liverpool!

"To be honest, this room was empty until I knew you were coming." We both laughed. "The view was why we bought this flat. Mine and Adam's views are even more amazing! Well, I'll let you unpack everything and get settled in." And with that, Joe was gone.

I started unpacking everything. After 5 minutes, I was tired so I laid down on the bed for a few minutes. Or at least I thought it was a few minutes..

"Maya, wake up.", Joe said as he shook me into consciousness.

"What? Wait, how long was I out for?"

"3 hours.", Joe said while laughing. "The reason I woke you up is because Adam is here and we're having dinner at 7."It was 6:30.

"Jesus, Joe it's already 6:30!", I exclaimed.

"It doesn't matter. We're eating here. I'm ordering Chinese takeaway. Nothing too formal, Maya."

"But I don't want to be a slob. I'm gonna get a quick shower and I'll pack later, okay?"

"Cool.", Joe replied as he walked out of my room.

This is gonna be a long dinner..
