15. The final minute🫀

Minho's POV
Time skip to 11:34 PM
I give myself a satisfied look in the mirror. A light grey suit is a change from the black one I normally wear. It's a good thing, a change on your wedding day. I button the ends of my blouse sleeves. Then I fold it neatly while trying to push my feelings away. I still don't know if Katarzyna is going to break the curse. But it's already in... I look at my watch. 25 minutes. In 25 minutes it will already be 12 o'clock at night and I must have kissed her to break the curse of my anger. And to guarantee the safety of our group. Stress is building up in my body but still I try to stay calm. Only 25 more minutes Minho. And then you will be rid of this constant angry feeling for good, I tell myself. But that's easier said than done. That twisted, bratty man of a Bang Chan. How could he have escaped? If I catch that guard-or much better, Bang Chan himself... I'll show them who's boss around here. Meanwhile, I put on my blazer and walk out the door, smashing it closed with a loud bang.

As I walk down the stairs towards the hall, the sound of people talking comes to me. As soon as I enter the ballroom, all eyes are on me. Quickly I walk through the room all the way to the front to have a chat with Hyunjin, the wedding planner. Everyone starts speaking again and luckily the killing silence ends. Hyunjin smiles as soon as he sees me. "You look very handsome sir." He says. "As always." I respond with a big grin on my face. "Yeah of course sir." ... "everything going alright?" I ask. "Yes, Katarzyna will come in at 11:55 pm. And you will kiss her at 11:59 pm. What do you think of the decoration?" Hyunjin asks. "I love it, it's gonna match her dress perfectly." I say with a big smile on my face. I don't even love her yet, but somehow I'm actually exiting to see her walk down the aisle.

The orchestra starts playing softly soothing songs while the indoor fountains turn on. The last bouquets are put down and I am standing on the stage. Waiting for the wedding officiant to enter. I am suffocatingly nervous, I did not expect myself to be nervous ever again in my life. But apparently it is still possible. From this POV I can see every guest that showed up. Seungmin, Changbin and Felix are seated first row. Jeongin will walk Katarzyna towards me so he will show up later. But Han, where is he at? He's my favourite person int his whole world. He can't miss this important moment... The sound of something ticking slowly enters my thoughts. I look around me to see the source of this sound. Ah, there it is. Right above the stage a huge clock is ticking. I remember the words of my father. "If you kiss the right person before 12:00, this clock (as he pointed at the same clock) will stop ticking and the curse is broken." It's currently 11:52.

At that moment the orchestra stops playing. All the people in the ballroom stop talking because of Hyunjin soothing them through the microphone. The nervous silence returns and all eyes are now on me, Hyunjin and the wedding officiant. My eyes are only focused on the 2 white doors on the other side of the room. Katarzyna will enter through those doors. Hyunjin starts with his speech and out of politeness, I look his way while he is speaking. "I have been given the honour of warmly welcoming you all to this special celebration. Tonight, Lee Minho will take Katarzyna Jazz as his spouse, breaking the well-known curse." Clapping and even whistling can be heard through the hall. Hyunjin waits a moment for the clapping to pass before he continues speaking. I can hear in his voice that he is nervous. A sweet smile is all I can give him right now to reassure him a bit. With me myself, the sourness is still to be cut. I just want this moment to be over. "Then I will hereby like to ask everyone to sit down." Again, Hyunjin waits a moment until everyone is seated. "Because at any moment, the beautiful Katarzyna Jazz will walk in."

The orchestra starts playing again while all the guests mouse quietly. And indeed, at that moment, the doors open. There she is, Katarzyna Jazz. Well, all I can see is her dress up to her shoulders. Over her head she has a blush pink veil that is not transparent so I cannot see her face. I smile as I watch how beautifully the dress shows off her small waist. Even on the high heels I gave her, she looks a lot smaller than Jeongin. Who is walking beside her while holding her hand. The pink dress fits perfectly within the picture of the wedding.

A lot of feelings rush through my body. I just don't know what to feel right now. I'm getting married to someone I barely know, I wish I could just marry my favourite person on this planet. My soulmate, but I don't know who my soulmate is.

People start clapping as Katarzyna walks up the stage steps. I take a step forward and take her hand. Meanwhile, I give Jeongin and friendly nod to let him know he can sit down with the rest of the leaders. Katarzyna meanwhile stept onto the stage and turns her body towards me. Making her right side an my left side facing the guest. Carefully, I take both of her hands hands and I look at her. Well, I look against her pink veil. Her hands feel so familiar, like I've hold them a million amount of times. A warm flare rushes through my body as a tickling feeling arise in my stomach. Wait... are those butterflies? A sparkle of hope comes up inside of me. Maybe she is the one! The guest calm down again and the silence returns. Meanwhile, the wedding officiant stands behind us. Hyunjin hands his the microphone. Right after, Hyunjin walks towards the rest of the leaders. From the corner of my eye I can see Felix approaching me and Katarzyna with the rings.

"Will you, Lee Minho take this person as the love of your life forever?" The wedding officiant asks while holding the microphone closer to me. "Yes" I answer. Felix gives me one of the boxes and Katarzyna the other one. The audience stands up and start clapping as some "awwe's" can be heard. We open them at the same time. At first it's my turn to put the ring around Katarzyna's finger. I take her soft hand and carefully put the diamond ring around her finger. The butterflies in my stomach keep going crazy as I start to feel happier than ever. I reach my hand out in front of me as Katarzyna takes it carefully. Slowly she pushed the ring around my finger. I smile at the pink veil and look away at the clock. It's 11:58 PM. Felix is still standing next to me as the wedding officiant says those last words "You may kiss your lover."

My hand reach towards the bottom of the veil. Slowly I lift it up and expect to see Katarzyna. But no. How is this possible? Confusing mixed with happiness and outrageous feeling starts to build up inside of me. Because that face is for sure pretty. But it's HAN. A gasp can be heard from the leaders side. While the audience is still clapping and complimenting Han's natural beauty. They don't know what Katarzyna looks like so they just think this is ment to be. All this time I have been standing here, just staring in Han's eyes. He looks happy but also a little bit scared. I look at the clock. 11:59 and 52 seconds. Without any hesitation I carefully but quickly grab Han by his shoulders and bend him over my knee. There is no time to get Katarzyna to come in here. This curse needs to be broken.

But as soon as my lips touch Han's lips, every thought of Katarzyna is completely gone. The best feeling ever is racing through my body. From my toes all the way up to my hair I can feel the butterflies going crazy. Han kisses me back as he cups my face with one hand. The other one meanwhile rest on my shoulder. The sweet taste of his lips and his soft hand on my face is the best thing I've ever felt. And at that moment, the clock ticks for one more time. This time it's so loud, it reaches above all the clapping and cheering people with ease. I let go of Han's lips and lift him up from my knee. I look at the clock while still holding Han's hands. It stopped, the clock stopped! At 11:59 minutes and 59 seconds. The curse is broken just in time. But that means... I make eye contact with Han. He is the one!
