Surprisingly, you struggled to keep up with him as he strode through the sand and back onto the sidewalk. When he was out of the sand, he pushed up his sleeve to glance at a small digital wristwatch. "Perfect," he said, turning back to you. " My ride should be here any second."
It was only then that you realized that he'd never even told you his name. This situation was getting more and more sketchy by the minute.
"So," you began, looking around casually. "What should I call you?"
He looked up from his watch and gave you what you assumed to be a smile again.
"Feitan."
"Last name?" you asked. This guys ambiguity was starting to get on your nerves.
"What do you mean?"
"Like. Your last name? It's not a difficult question."
"Oh," he said before shrugging. "I don't know mine."
You were about to ask what he meant by that when a loud screeching noise cut you off. Looking up, you saw an expensive-looking sports car headed right towards the two of you. It didn't seem like it had any intention of stopping, either. Feitan had pulled out his phone and was looking down at it. You took it upon yourself to shove him out of the path of the car right before it could take him down.
The vehicle was still moving towards you, though.
