YOU and chris broke up a week ago. now he sits in your car, passenger side as you too go on a drive. he called you crying and explaining that everything was shit rn, you told him you be there in five.
"yn"he said softly
"hmm"you with your mind on the road, dilated eyes
"you know i've liked you for a while" he said softly again
"we were sixteen how was i supposed to know anything" you said in almost a whisper
"what happened you were fine, we were fine?" he said not taking his eyes off you. you kept your mouth closed. the silence was familiar.
"you were never around, always working i felt alone, i thought maybe you weren't ready for a relationship" you said eyes on the road
"i care for you still and i will...forever" he said with a whisper like tone, " that was my part of the deal" he followed up with
"but in this life, it's ok to not be ready for a relationship, a change...your too focused on work chris." you said in a soft voice
the silence came back
im sure we're taller in another dimension you thought to yourself, you had always joked about their being a different version on you two who were taller in a different dimension.
"i get it you were tired of being alone in every relationship, im sorry couldn't be different" he said softly
"don't apologize" you said.
you really hoped their was the different version of you too in some dimension
