Miko was like an anchor to Y/N.
The only solace they had from the rigorous, hellish training that had become even worse was going out to the town with Miko, whether that was going out shopping, going to see Ei or even just sitting in the café for hours just chatting.
For as long as they could remember, Miko had been the one to be by their side since their parents deaths, or at least what they could remember of their deaths. (There was always this running thought in their head of 'what if's'.) And Miko was the one to help them push forward. The one to always make sure they were taking care of themself, to make sure they knew they were still a child, even if their situation was largely different to that of a normal young child.
The one who taught them how to clean their room properly, as she knew they preferred their privacy over their belongings (ultimately turning them into a clean freak). The one who gave them that pink fox plushie they still have secured and safe in their bed, the one they still hugged to sleep to push away the nightmares. The woman who held them tightly when they ended up screaming bloody murder from night terrors in the middle of the night.
The one who wasn't afraid to let Jigoku know that he was going too far with training when they ended up beaten black and blue, red stains all over.
It wasn't—It wasn'tsupposed to go this way...

Y/N looked down at their crimson, blood-stained hands, knees digging into the ground. They couldn't even force themself to cry. All they felt was the frozen, iced water being doused over their body, and any warmth they'd gained from being around Miko, around love... whisked away like a candle had been blown out.
The picture was almost identical to when they found their mother.
The only thing warming their body now was the pure, unadulterated rage flowing through them like molten lava as they death-glared at the two disgusting, hideous curses in front of them.
