Maneuvering around his city, he hopped from building to building like he knew the entire city like the back of his hand. Eventually, he got back to his mother with the groceries.
"That was quick, honey! Thank you." Reina smiled, taking the groceries and handing him a rag to wipe his face.
"No problem, Mom." He said, wiping his face. When he finished wiping his face, he looked at Reina's face and noticed tears running down it.
"Mom, you okay?" Kuragari asked her.
"Yes, I'm fine." Reina sniffled, wiping her face. "I'm just so proud of the man you've become. You were mature before puberty and you sound and look even more mature after." Reina commented, hugging her son.
"And this is the last time I'll see you for a while. You applied to Kouh Academy, right?" Reina asked Kuragari.
"Yes, Mom. I'm allowed to take the entrance exam." Kuragari told his mother.
"Just like your brother and sister." Reina commented, to which Kuragari scoffed at the thought of his older siblings.
"I know you're not very fond of them, but at least you'll see each other at school." Reina smiled nervously, trying to cheer up her son.
"Yippee." Kuragari remarked sarcastically.
"Come on, I'll get us some ice cream." Reina chuckled, as she made the suggestion with a smile.
"Ice cream sounds good." Kuragari smiled. They went in the house and Reina put 3 pints each in an bowl for each of them. Afterwards, they sat down on the couch in the living room.
"I'm gonna miss this. Us just being able to hang out like this. I remember when you were up to my waist. Now you're taller than me." Reina chuckled.
"Yeah. I used be afraid... of talking to people. And I still am." Kuragari joked.
"Yeah... I remember when you wouldn't even talk to me. And you wore that cloak that covered your... horns..." Reina remembered.
"Yeah... I'm a Demon... you don't... have to remind me..." Kuragari smiled as he took a bite of his ice cream.
"Well, if this is our final night together, I'm glad we're spending it like this." Reina smiled, leaning onto Kuragari's shoulder.
"Kuragari." Orcus called him from the living room. "Come with me." Orcus requested. Reina followed them outside.
"Hand to hand combat only." Orcus requested.
"Got it." Kuragari replied to him. And the duel was off. Kuragari rushed him with his Death Scythe aiming at his legs. Orcus jumps and attempts to use his legs to get distance between him and Kuragari, but he parries his legs and he stumbles a bit.
"Shit!" Orcus calls out as he now only has a second to get his baring. He decided to break his own rule of no magic and flew away from his attack. Once he did, Kuragari and Orcus stared at each other for a few seconds.
"It's my loss. Kuragari. I just have one request." Orcus commented.
"What?" Kuragari replied to him.
"Take off your hood. I never see you without it on." Orcus requested.
"You don't have to do it--" Reina told him. "It's fine, Mom. He's my father. He has a right to know." Kuragari told his mom as he removed his hood from his head, revealing his eyepatch, the scar on his left eye, and his Demon horns.
"So it's true. You are a Demon." Orcus concluded.
"Yes. I am." Kuragari replied to him.
"I thought you were lying, Reina, when you said he was a Demon instead of a Devil." Orcus said to Reina.
