Namjoon's POV
'It has been a week, nothing is happening', I thought. 'I worry. Usually when this happens, he's planning for something big. I need to protect Jungkook, and warn the others too'
Suddenly, I flinched at the sudden knock on my car's window, my frown turning into a relieved smile. Jungkook entered with enthusiasm, "Hi, you ok?"
We exchanged hugs as I sighed, "Yeah..", but my tone suggested otherwise and Jungkook can easily tell.
"You sure? You looked like you were in a deep thought", Jungkook spoke with concern.
"Just work stuff", I tried to brush it off but Jungkook doesn't believe me — it was evident on his cute frown. "Work can trouble you for a week? That's not the Kim Namjoon that I know. Come on, you can tell me. You know that, right?"
I sighed again, slightly frustrated that he can tell. I didn't want to bother him with it but there's no escape, so I simply cupped his cheek and pressed my forehead against his.
"I don't want to talk about it.. please", my tone tinged with soft desperation which made Jungkook retreat, thankfully.
He stared at me for a while before sighing in defeat. "Fine, but you should know that I'm always here to listen". His smile contaminated me when he pressed his soft lips onto mine.
"Thank you... How was school by the way?"
"Just like any other day, stressful but fun. The kids were just extra energetic today because we had an activity."
I chuckled as he summarized his day. "Kids are kids, at least you made them happy. I'm sure it's a wonderful experience that they'll never forget, and it's you who have given it to them."
"I hope so. I've been experimenting on how I can make my lectures more engaging and fun." Jungkook said happily. My smile widened as I started the car, just seeing him so passionate with his work and doing his best to improve for his students just added to the list of reasons why I love this man.
"By the way, I'll be home late tomorrow so don't wait for me and eat dinner first."
I frowned in confusion. "Why?"
"The oldest teacher is resigning soon, we're throwing a farewell party for her. You don't have to pick me up too since Taehyung will be there to drive us home."
"I can wait", I tried to convince him but he simply chuckled.
"Don't be stubborn, Tae is with me. You don't have to worry, ok?"
I let out a sigh again. "Ok, you all stay safe ok? But I'm still waiting for you until you get home"
"I have no choice, do I?"
I shook my head with a smirk. "Stubborn", Jungkook let out with a playful tone.
Jungkook's POV
Time Skip
It was 6 in the afternoon when all the students had finally gone home. Yet, the empty halls still echoed with laughters because of the ongoing party. Everyone was doing their best to make sure Mrs. Sierda will enjoy her last moments in the school she had taught for 30 years, even as far as inviting her old graduated students. I smiled as I observed how happy she was, influencing my thoughts to imagine the future in this job. Would it be just like this? With colleagues you built your friendships with all throughout years of teaching, with students whom you'll see rise in success because of you... Time passing in a blur and we couldn't stop it, turning happy moments into memories.
"Jungkook, you ok?", I was pulled back into reality with Jisoo staring back at me with concern.
"Ah yes, I dazed off for a moment". Jisoo chuckled at my reply and patted my shoulder. "Everyday is an exhausting day for us teachers, yet we still continue because it makes us happy to see our students learn something from us"
