Chapter 2
"For the world seems never to offer anything worthwhile without also providing a dreadful opposite."
— Stephen Fry
Mythos Agency, Maharlika
She would always tell me that the agency was like her home.
However, it just seemed odd dahil buong akala ko'y moderno ang magiging disenyo ng istraktura nito, rather it turned out to be a huge temple—similar to the Parthenon but a whole lot bigger and taller!
This place looked exactly like an abandoned sanctuary. Where are the people?
Just as I was about to step back and find an exit, a sudden change in the surrounding's temperature made my body halt. My senses enhanced as I patiently waited for what was yet to come.
I've heard stories that Mythos Agency was fond of giving unexpected tricks to demigods.
A swift wind blew, making the leaves float on air, until it all flew in a spiral manner. I stood my ground and watched as how a figure emerged from the leaves that were now glowing.
When the light faded, a lady in a floral dress appeared on my sight. She has this long, hazel brown hair that was filled with little flowers and was braided down to her hip.
"Argh!" she groaned. "Jumping off that cliff is a major turn off for this agency. Who in Olympus have even thought about that horrible entrance?"
I can sense an immense power coming from her so I didn't let my guard down.
She's a demigod, I can say, but from what myth?
Her olive-green eyes squinted in curiosity.
"A descendant of Hades, am I right?"
I stared at her. She has an accent. British, perhaps.
Pinili kong hindi sumagot. It was quite astonishing that she easily guessed my identity in a look. Now, I could assume that she was from the same myth as I am.
